In this 8 hours private tour, you will visit the beautiful places in the East including Bois Cheri Tea Factory to visit the tea production & learn its history.
Then, drive to Blue Bay Marine Park to enjoy a Glass Bottom Boat trip including snorkeling. You will have a great view of the reef, fish & corals. Next, head to Mahebourg Museum which will take you into a historical journey of the island dating back to the 18th century.
You'll enjoy a 3-course lunch & head to the Mahebourg waterfront enjoying an unforgettable stroll with a remarkable sea view & see the Bataille de la passe memorial. Then, continue to Mahebourg local market to experience the lively local culture.
Then, head to Frederick Hendrick museum to visit the dutch ruins & the artifacts. Next head to Point canon to have a great viewpoint with views over the large bay of Grand Port, whose famous battle changed the course of colonial history and its Cannons.

Bois Cheri Tea Factory and Tea Museum
Begin your 8 hours discovery East of Mauritius tour with a hotel pick-up at your accommodation anywhere in Mauritius. You will meet and be greeted by our certified guide and after boarding to your comfortable vehicle, then set off for your first stop. Firstly, you'll head to the Bois Chéri Tea factory. A guide will lead you through the factory & the tea plantation, offering you to discover the history, stories, and tales of the Bois Chéri and the importance of tea productions in Mauritius. After the guided tour of the tea factory, you will visit the tea production museum learning more about the history of tea in Mauritius. The Bois Chéri offers a great panoramic view of the south of the island. Nowadays Bois Chéri produces a new range of flavored teas, green teas & herbal teas. You may taste them during your visit.
Blue Bay Marine Park
The Blue Bay marine park is one of the best places to see the beautiful marine life and to go for snorkeling in Mauritius. At the Marine Park, you can decide to see the underwater world onboard the boat through its glass bottom or to jump into the water for some snorkeling. The Snorkeling at the park is highly recommended as the colorful fauna & flora found at the park are absolutely stunning. At an average depth of 5.5 meters, with crystal clear water offering great visibility, the snorkeling conditions are ideal. You will have a great view of the reef, fish, and of large selection of corals The Blue Bay Marine Park is home to mangroves, algae, seagrasses, corals, and other marine organisms. There is also a wide variety of fish species that include Damselfish, Surgeonfish, Butterflyfish, juvenile Sailfin tangs, as well as tiny Pipefish and Trumpetfish. Note: all activities are supervised to ensure the protection of the flora and fauna. With respect to marine life & its ecosystem!

4.00We had a great time today! Augi (not sure how to spell his name, sorry) was great. The wind was very rough but did not distract from our activities. I wish we had time to shop at the Bazzar to buy some souvenirs. I would make a suggestion that if guests are staying in the North that the pick up is a little earlier so we have extra time for shopping. It was a great day, thank you.

3.00I participated in this tour together with a friend. The experience itself was really great, especially thanks to our guide. However, it was not exactly the tour we booked. In the description it was written we would visit the following points: - Bois Cheri Tea Factory - Pont Naturel - Blue Bay Marine Park - Mahebourg Museum - Mahebourg Waterfront - Bazar Street - Frederick Hendrik Museum - Point Canon Upon arrival of our guide he compared with us the stops that were communicated to him by the tour company. These were not the one we booked. The places of interest in Mahebourg and Blue Bay were included. The other ones like the Tea Factory or Pont Naturel were not. Especially those latter two were places we were really looking forward to. Thus, our guide got back with the company, discussing the mismatch between the places he was told to drive to and the ones we actually booked. He worked out that we indeed could drive to the Blue Bay Marine Park, have the promised lunch in Mahebourg, and see the Bois Cheri Tea Factory. The stop at Pont Naturel was not possible as no proper road leads there. Yet, our guide got in touch with his contacts and organized that we could get there with a quad. This was an arrangement outside the booked tour respectively the company behind the tour. Correspondingly, we had to pay extra for it. In the end we were able to visit all the places we really would liked to see, thanks to our guide. The other ones were not possible anymore due to time constraints, but this was okay for us. Another aspect that did not went well, is that we always needed to discuss the prepayment at the different stops. That is, the activity in Blue Bay and the entrance at the Bois Cheri Tea Factory were already covered by booking the tour. However, we first had to discuss this with the people on site at both locations, as they did not know about it directly. In conclusion, I would like to say that I am very dissatisfied with the company Freshverde Holidays, being responsible for the tour. The cab driver respectively guide they have hired has made up for this. I therefore recommend Josh Josué (+230 5747 7127) to 110% for all those who need a cab or a guide. He was awesome, making sure that despite the poor organization the day was a really great one.
