What To Expect

Your tour starts with a personally guided walk through the ancient olive groves. Admire the untouched olive area and meet the resident olive expert in the groves. Hear the story of the oldest olive variety in the world and experience being an islander yourself. When you arrive at the mill, enjoy the "taste like a pro" program to learn how the production is made: combining tradition with the latest technology. Savor delicious Greek olive delicacies during the visit of the olive mill. In this private tour, you will learn how to taste and recognize high quality olive oil just as the professionals do in our workshop. It is an unique lesson which you can share with friends and family. Find out about the therapeutic and health protecting qualities of olive oil and learn how to distinguish between top quality and non extra virgin olive oil. During the program, enjoy some delicacies such as olive oil paired up with bread, tomatoes, feta cheese and a handmade cracker with a glass of local wine. At the end of the tour you will be awarded a certificate of participation. The tour ends at approximately 1:30pm.

Despite a bit of confusion finding our guide after disembarking the ship, the team at The Governor's Olive Mill went above and beyond—personally calling to ensure we connected with the tour. We came across the excellent olive oil of the best quality at the Hotel Sentido Apollo and have been big supporters of it ever since. During our last stay in Corfu town we visited the new shop THE GOVENOR in the old town. The staff there are very competent and very friendly. We were interested in a guided tour in Aghios Matthaios Corfu and booked it.We were picked up by a very nice driver at the hotel and taken overland to the oil mill, where we received a great, very informative tour from Andriana, who accompanied us with a lot of kindness also through a great tasting. Absolute highlight!

Very informative tour about history, harvesting, production, and tasting olive oil. Picked up right at the cruise dock, with timely return. Very clean, modern facility, with store to purchase items if you wish. No pressure. Also visited very old "Mother" olive tree, and ancient fort. Nice drive through the country side on windy narrow roads. Well worth it!
