Great tour from start to finish. Maik really knew his stuff and made the tour both historically interesting and entertaining, engaging with us throughout the tour. Would recommend to anyone wanting a bit of a different tour to the usual.

If you're looking for a night in Tokyo that ventures far off the beaten path, this ghost tour is an absolute must. We joined expecting a few spooky stories, but what we got was a mesmerizing journey into Japan's rich folklore of yūrei (ghosts), yōkai (supernatural beings), and centuries-old mysteries that still linger in the city's shadows. Our guide was a masterful storyteller—knowledgeable, theatrical, and clearly passionate about Japanese mythology. They wove together historical events, urban legends, and ancient folklore with such skill that even skeptics in our group were hanging on every word. Walking through dimly lit neighborhoods and hearing tales of vengeful spirits, cursed locations, and eerie coincidences created an atmosphere that was genuinely haunting without ever feeling cheesy or overdone. What made this tour special was how it illuminated Japanese culture through its supernatural beliefs. We gained fascinating insights into how concepts of honor, revenge, and the afterlife have shaped these ghost stories for generations. The settings were perfectly chosen—quiet shrines, narrow backstreets, and spots you'd never notice during the day took on an entirely different character after dark. The tour culminated near Sensoji Temple, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Seeing the iconic Thunder Gate and the temple's glowing red lantern illuminated against the night sky, with far fewer crowds than during the day, felt almost magical. The contrast between the eerie tales we'd just heard and the serene, majestic beauty of the temple at night created a perfect, unforgettable ending. The paper lanterns lining Nakamise Street cast a warm, ethereal glow that felt like stepping into another world entirely. By the end of the evening, we were equal parts spooked and spellbound. It's the perfect blend of history, culture, goosebumps, and unexpected beauty. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Tokyo's mysterious side—just maybe don't walk home alone afterward!

Denise was absolutely phenomenal. She did so much research and was so knowledgeable for the tour it was astounding. I got lost on the way to the meeting spot and she came and found me. It wasn’t just a ghost tour - it was more than that. It was an evening tour around side streets in areas we’ve never would have known about or taken otherwise. Seeing the post work-world of Japan. She also told us stories including the ins and outs of Japan that you don’t hear about. She made sure that we were always comfortable - even bringing an extra umbrella when there was a slight chance of rain and she is very funny! I cannot give any higher recommendation. Book her and you will not be disappointed!

Nice walking tour consisting of several stories for the places you visit, really shows that you often miss the grotesque history of some places you otherwise would just walk by
