Begin at a hidden sushi restaurant where an expert itamae prepares fresh sushi before your eyes. Next, enjoy premium Wagyu yakiniku at a local Japanese BBQ restaurant near Shinjuku West or Kabuki-cho. Here, you can opt for the Omakase style (the chef's choices), entrusting the seasoned sushi chef to serve you the season's finest creations. Navigating Shinjuku's bustling streets, filled with people, restaurants, accommodations, and attractions, finding an authentic Japanese eatery can be a challenge, even for locals.

5.00Our tour with Yuki was amazing. We were a large family of 7 that struggled to find restaurants to that could fit us, so we booked a food tour. It was very easy to find and meet our tour guide. We took a stroll through Shinjuku and then started the sushi course. The sushi was a delicious six course meal with plenty of food. There were vegatarians in our group and they enjoyed the courses as well. We then went to the Wagyu restaurant, where we had 5 different cuts of meat. It is a yakinuku restaurant, but grilling was handled by our guide. We ended the night with a yummy dessert right outside of Golden Gai. All in all, we really enjoyed the tour and were totally stuffed when it was finished. Our guide, Yuki, was fantastic. He was engaging and charismatic the entire time (~3 hours) and made sure to take photos at each stop. He was also full of recommendations for the rest of our trip, which we checked out later and have all been great. He even offered to show us around to his favorite places post-tour, but we were exhausted from the day and had to rain check. I would HIGHLY recommend any tour guided by Yuki! He is such a friendly guy that made the tour a special experience for our family! Thanks Yuki 😁

5.00I had a really great time exploring the Shinjuku food scene with Karen! She was very friendly and knowledgeable, I found her perspective incredibly valuable in experiencing this part of Japan. The restaurants we went to were absolutely phenomenal and at each stop I was able to try foods I'd never had before. We had plenty of time at each stop to not only try the food but also talk about where that style of cuisine fits within Japanese culture. I'd recommend this tour for anybody looking to get a primer on the food scene here in Tokyo!
