What To Expect

National Park Burabay

Four hours drive from Astana you will find a wonderful national park with crystal blue lakes, pine forest and green mountains. Burabai is a monument of nature with clean air and coniferous aroma. Imagine you walking in pine forest. Our guide and driver will meet you at hotel's lobby in the morning. Driving 270 km or 3 hours you will arrive at the park area with 14 big and number of small lakes. You will have a walk along fir trees and enormous rocks of unusual forms, visit the historical meadow of Abylai khan, ride horse at forrest and take a hike to Bolektau Mountain from where you can get the best views. At the end of a day we will drop you off at hotel.

The burabay national park is amazing. The frozen lakes and ice cladded mountains are just stunning. So beautiful. Every location like zhumbaktas or dancing birch treeshas its own beauty . Just amazing

My tour started off great. Two young men served as my guides, and they drove me to the location. We reached the peak and enjoyed the views for quite some time. The hike was quite difficult for me, but the guides were incredibly helpful in assisting me up there. I have a soft spot for young people who do their best, so we talked a lot, and the guides were very enthusiastic to share about their culture. Overall, I enjoyed the trip, and the guys took care of me for the whole day. However, the reason for my 1/5 rating is this. I was appalled to find out how little those young men were paid, given how much I was charged for the tour. They spent their entire day with me and received only a tiny fraction of what I had paid. I ended up giving them tips because I always try to support hard-working young people. It's outrageous and left me feeling disappointed.

This was a fun day out with my tour guide/driver Timur. The drive from Astana to Burabay takes approx 3 hours so I had plenty of time to get prepared for what I was doing. The first part was the hiking which was 45 minutes uphill and rewarded with great views of the park. Lunch was traditional Kazakh kebabs and tea which were delicious. Then did horseriding in the afternoon which was brilliant fun but a bit scary for a novice rider like myself (only been on a horse once previously) Certainly worth doing if you want to do something different

Our tour guide Madi was awesome. Perfect tour to see a National Park in Kazakhstan. Madi made sure we were well taken care of the entire day.

Today we was in Burabai and it was a amazing experience. It’s a beautiful view there and we would do this trip everytime again. Our Guide Sukhrab showed us everything and told us about the history of this place. The hole team was very friendly and we can recommend this tour to everyone.
