A really great experience which gives some insight into a part of life that you otherwise might not see ! We ( it was just my wife and I on the tour) were met by Luthanda a local guide who took us to Langa township. It was like having a chat as we walked around - he told us where not to take pics etc and we felt entirely comfortable throughout. It was amazing, all the people we came across were wonderful, their energy and resilience is immense. He explained thst the local folks had more respect for those that chose to come and walk round to try understand rather than drive through ! So glad we did this, recommend it - slightly apprehensive as we walked in, but put completely at ease by Luthanda and the people of Llanga - it will be one of my abiding memories of Cape Town !

Well worth a tour. Amazing guide and incredibly interesting and useful to see something other than the ice creamy waterfront, this is also Cape Town and it should all take time to see

A profound and authentic experience. Highly recommended! We had a queasy feeling before, which turned out to be unfounded. We felt safe and welcome. Gazi, our guide first explained the origins and history and then we walked through the township with her. All residents have welcomed us friendly. You can feel the good community that rules there. We are glad to have made this tour and to have heard from the residents themselves their experiences. We will also recommend the tour to friends & acquaintances and wish the residents more support and an improvement in circumstances in the future! Thank you guys for letting us visit you.

An excellent trip, collected on time from Long Street and taken to District Six, Kanaladorp, Gugulethu and Langa, two different townships with a walking tour in Langa. A very interesting, informative and eye-opening tour that was run very well, not to be missed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an unforgettable day! Our tour through Langa Township was absolutely amazing – all thanks to our fantastic guide, Namhla 🙌 She showed us the real life and spirit of Langa with so much passion, warmth, and authenticity. The highlight was a spontaneous local party – being part of the community! 🥳 You can feel how proud Namhla is of her neighborhood, and that energy is contagious. We were really lucky to have her! If you want to experience the true heart of Cape Town, ask for Namhla! 💛

Luthango took us through the township of Langa. Not as a guide, but as a friend who shows his homeland. Safe, authentic, open. An impressive contrast to the tourist bustle in Cape Town.

We had been hesitant to join one of these township tours due to safety and ethical concerns, but for anyone still on the fence: book it! It was easily one of the most impactful things we have done in South Africa. Chippa took us on a driving and walking tour of Langa, meanwhile telling us about the history, customs and community. We visited three homes that illustrated the different living conditions for many of the residents. This part of the tour was a sobering experience for both of us, but it was also important to get a small insight into the challenges that the majority of people within South Africa are faced with. The tour is very informative and also includes many of the local initiatives that are happening within the community of Langa. We visited a community vegetable garden, a successful food delivery company and an art gallery. We also enjoyed all the street art that dots the neighbourhood and the sense of pride and community in the area. The only part we didn’t enjoy so much was visiting the children’s daycare as the kids sang songs for us, since we weren’t sure how many times a day the children did this for tourists. We forgot to ask Chippa about this however, so it could very well be that these visits are done with the children’s wellbeing as the priority. Overall, we were really glad we made the decision to visit Langa and see this part of Cape Town. We never felt unsafe during the whole tour and would recommend it to anyone wanting to get a more well-rounded experience of life in South Africa, while also giving something back to the community within Langa.

If you are thinking about taking a tour to Langa, make sure you'll do it with Chippa and his colleagues. I spent the most incredible day of my whole trip with him in Langa and did not only get the chance to get an insight into Chippas huge knowledge on Southafrican History, but also to meet some amazing, kind and inspiring people. To see how the people from Langa are changing the community for the better with their opened hearts and creative mindset was truly touching. Throughout the whole tour I could feel that Chippa is such a beloved member of the community and was so eager to share that deep bond that he has with the people of Langa. Besides amazing art I also got to taste the best Coffee I ever had, made by the first barista of Langa. Don't miss the chance to experience the beauty and kindness of the people and get to dive in the unique vibe of Langa. Thanks Chippa for this incredible experience!
