What distinguishes our offering is the idyllic and historic location (Poje Field), authentic and traditional cuisine (homemade aperitifs and local wines, Hvar platter, traditional main courses, dessert featuring our own extra virgin olive oil from family groves), homemade and home-grown ingredients (extra virgin olive oil, limoncello, brandy, and other local produce), personalized and intimate setting (shared table experience & great company), sensory adventure (taste and scenery amidst olives, grapevine and lavender).

What To Expect

We will host you at our family field called Poje - an idyllic place in the heart of Stari Grad Plain (UNESCO-protected heritage) on the island of Hvar. We want to offer an experience that combines the best traditional food, a unique location, and great company. As you step into the grove, a shared table will wait for the guests with a selection of homemade aperitifs, local wines, and juice, inviting you to taste the essence of the island's beverages, including homemade herbal grappa, sweet wine, grape brandy, and more. The dinner will commence with the Hvar Platter featuring goat cheese aged in our home-grown extra virgin olive oil, salted blue fish, olives, capers, and pickled sea flowers, all drizzled with the family's extra virgin olive oil. Complementing this, our extra virgin olive oil will be presented. A selection of main dishes will be offered. Dive into the Pasta with Tomato Sauce ("Hvar Šalša") and enjoy the Traditional Hvar Octopus Stew or Cuttlefish Black Risotto, depending on the day's freshest catch. The Poje journey will be concluded with Lemon Extra Virgin Olive Oil Cake, a rich and moist delicacy with lemons from our family’s village, Dol.

My family and I had the absolute pleasure of attending a private dinner at Poje Hvar. It was truly an exceptional experience! Kornelija and her daughter Morana are warm, gracious hosts who gave us a tour of the property and gardens. The farm to table meal was incredible from start to finish. We started with a sampling of homemade, flavored spirits. We enjoyed an amazing spread of goat cheese, olives, and a basil spread that was out of this world! A delicious eggplant dish, pasta and octopus entree to follow. And to complete the incredible meal was the best cake I've ever tasted! The view and setting were breathtaking!

We attended this event with a group of 8 friends, to celebrate my husband’s birthday while on a boat-bike vacation through the Dalmatian Islands. The UNESCO site in Stari Grad was gorgeous, with equally gorgeous weather. The charming Kornelija went above and beyond to make the evening a special birthday event, including providing birthday decorations and candles. The aperitifs, appetizers, meal and desserts were all delicious! It was interesting to learn about the history of the area and what being a UNESCO site entails. Enjoying dinner outside in a beautiful location under the twinkling lights made for a truly memorable experience, far more than any restaurant could have provided!

We went to a private dinner at Poje Hvar to celebrate a friend's birthday and had an absolutely wonderful time! We arrived and were greeted by Kornelija. She gave us a tour of the property/gardens and we learned a lot about what it means to be a UNESCO site. It's amazing what Kornelija has done with the property since starting the dinners. We started off by tasting several aperitif's all made from the farm/fruit trees. We then sat down to wonderful dinner, with many of the dishes using ingredients from the farm. We were treated to an amazing spread with an appetizer course, a pasta course and a seafood course. Come hungry!! We enjoyed great wine and a wonderful dessert as well as a birthday cake! We didn't allow enough time before our cab came to pick us up, give yourself 4 hours.

Cannot recommend Poje Hvar enough. We had a wonderful evening and dinner here with our 7 and 9 year olds. The tour of the farm was an added bonus (we picked herbs and tomatoes!). The food was incredible and they were so happy to cater to our requirements (vegetarian). Every aspect of the meal from the food to the wine was well thought through and delicious and the company of Morana and her mother and their knowledge of the local area was so special. The whole experience was 10/10!

This dinner will leave you speechless - it provides a 100% authentic Hvar experience with the locals themselves. You can taste homegrown and homemade brandies, such as herb brandy, cherry brandy, grape brandy, and even limoncello from the family garden. The menu is fabulous, it's fixed but can be customized if someone has dietary restrictions. This is not your average traveling experience, that's for sure.

Korneljia the host provided a beautiful ambience in a field surrounded by olive trees in the UNESCO heritage plains of Starigrad. All ingredients, from vegetables to fish, wine to homemade brandy are either from her garden or locally sourced from the island. Very personalized culinary experience and great company. Highly recommended!
