Trou aux Cerfs
Begin your 7-8 hours southwest scenic tour with a hotel pick-up anywhere in Mauritius. You will meet & be greeted by our certified guide and after boarding to your comfortable vehicle, then set off for your first stop. You'll be heading to Trou Aux Cerfs which is one of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius. The dormant volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters & a depth of around 100 meters. Unlike the typical volcanic features, Trou aux Cerfs’ crater is surrounded by a vast area of lush forest consisting of indigenous plant species and some giant green pine trees. It is believed that the Trou aux Cerfs erupted once and has remained dormant for the last 700 000 years; experts believe that there is a potential chance for it to become active again. Definitely, one of the main highlights is the 360-degree view of the town, Curepipe & the majestic view of Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis- Moka mountain range.
Afterward, head to Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir which has the honor of being the largest reservoir on the island with a capacity of almost 26 million cubic meters and is simultaneously a rather popular stop for tourists visiting the south of the island. Although nothing as fancy as the other attractions in Mauritius, Mare aux Vacoas is a gem hidden between lines of thick forests. It is the perfect place to spend a relaxing few minutes away from the usual hustle and bustle of the country. The reservoir even offers a rather amazing view worth several clicks.

Great way to see the whole island. And experience all that Mauritius has. Darin accommodated the way you would like to have it flow when it was possible.

A full day with lots of experiences. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the area. The included lunch was delicious with choices. The coloured earth looked more colourful on the picture on the internet than in real life but this did not detract from the overall tour. The visit to the tea and rum tours were very good. Plenty of tea to try with no hard sell. Don’t get too drunk tasting the many varieties of rum!!!

We had a great trip around the south-west of Mauritius with our driver Radhika. We managed to fit in a full day of activities without ever feeling too rushed. Radhika made us feel safe and reassured that we were in for an exciting day. Radhika was knowledgeable about the area and knew all the best spots to see such as the Valle Adventure Park (an adrenaline filled day of fun), St Aubin Rum Distillery (which featured an amazing rum tasting) and the Black River Gorges National Park (which featured one of the most stunning views we had ever seen in our lives). Radhika also took the time to tell us quite a bit about Mauritian customs and culture which helped give depth to this beautiful place. Overall, this was a great tour and a must do for anyone travelling to Mauritius and it wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise and kindness of our driver and tour guide Radhika.

Kevin was a great guide, met us at our hotel in his immaculately presented car for our whistle stop tour of the South of the island, Kevin was articulate, knowledgeable and very willing to share his obvious depth of knowledge of the beautiful Mauritius. Would highly recommended the tour but make sure you understand the walking involved at the 23 sands and the array of adventuring options that are available at the location and dress and prepare accordingly before booking. Thanks Kevin for a great snapshot of your beautiful country.

The day before our tour was scheduled the company cancelled. The excuse was bad weather and concern for our safety. We could find no forecasted bad weather and the weather that day was hot and sunny.

Even though the description says that the driver is also a guide, our driver was not. He rarly talked, and when we finally asked questions his answers were short, and often he had no answer. As a driver however we was nice and on time and the car was great. Secondly almost half the destinations were closed due to earlier rainfall. We did not find out about this until we were in the car. The organizers did not provide any options for the closed activities either. Lastly the lunch place (Escale des îles) had the slowest service I have ever encountered. This is the restaurants fault, but I thought I should mention it, because we sat for almost 2 hours in the most humid restaurant on earth
