Trou aux Cerfs
Begin your 7-8 hours southwest scenic tour with a hotel pick-up anywhere in Mauritius. You will meet & be greeted by our certified guide and after boarding in your comfortable vehicle, then set off for your first stop. You'll be heading to Trou Aux Cerfs which is one of the famous natural tourist attractions in Mauritius. The dormant volcanic crater is around 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters & a depth of around 100 meters. Unlike the typical volcanic features, Trou aux Cerfs’ crater is surrounded by a vast area of lush forest consisting of indigenous plant species and some giant green pine trees. It is believed that the Trou aux Cerfs erupted once and has remained dormant for the last 700 000 years; experts believe that there is a potential chance for it to become active again. Definitely, one of the main highlights is the 360-degree view of the town, Curepipe & the majestic view of Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis- Moka mountain range.
Afterward, head to Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir which has the honor of being the largest reservoir on the island with a capacity of almost 26 million cubic meters and is simultaneously a rather popular stop for tourists visiting the south of the island. Although nothing as fancy as the other attractions in Mauritius, Mare aux Vacoas is a gem hidden between lines of thick forests. It is the perfect place to spend a relaxing few minutes away from the usual hustle and bustle of the country. The reservoir even offers a rather amazing view worth several clicks.

The tour was fine so far. Nothing spectacular. Our driver was courteous and accompanied us to some sights and explained them. With others, he just waited until we came back. Lunch was simple but good. Don't be fooled by the illustration of the offer. Some things are not part of the offer ! Read exactly the scope of services ! The panoramic road we have e.g. B missing ! The pictures promised more, so we were a bit disappointed

We had an amazing time with our tour guide Mangesh. Mangesh took us to explore the south and gave us the time we wanted in each location. The weather was slightly cloudy at the beginning however after a while we began to see some sun! Our favourite parts of the day were visiting the Valle park and also the Gorge Viewpoint. Mangesh collected us earlier from our hotel, to ensure that we arrived to the attractions whilst they were not busy, and they were far from busy which improved our overall experience! Thank you so much Mangesh, we would highly recommend this to other tourists!

We had a nice excursion with a good tour guide Agi. He showed us the most beautiful places of the South West of Mauritius and was happy to answer all our questions. Highly recommended if you want to discover the southwest of Mauritius. Tip: bring a raincoat or umbrella, because it often rains in the south.
