The canyon ride was very good. Stunning scenery and unique. If you are not part of a group / tour you may have to wait as the boats don't go out till full or almost full. The lookouts are a nice option but for us the essential part of this trip was the boat ride in the canyon. The stop in Chiapa de Corzo is short, about an hour. It is a great location to buy souvenirs as there is a lot of choice around the square. A few suggestions tour operators might want to pass on to the boat operators e.g. put a tip jar on the dock or boat at the end of the trip. Collecting tips half way through the trip is a turn off for many, and detracts from the overall experience. There were a few sections that had a lot of plastic in the water. More regular clean up would be a bonus. Have an actual tour guide on the boat- maybe a naturalist from the park. Someone that can share information about the canyon, its creation / evolution, typical flora and fauna. Also to reinforce how important it is to limit the use of single source plastics, dispose of them properly etc.

Stunning views, boat trip was great - saw crocodiles and spider monkeys. On downside, the visit to the town was short (20 mins) but nothing to see so seemed pointless. Also, minibus a bit cramped/ hot. However, overall definitely recommend the trip.
