It was a GREAT DAY!! Here is my run down. Communication about pick up/location/what to bring (most via text after signing up) was clear and easy. The rainforest was THE BEST PART OF MY DAY. We went on a natural rock slide, cliff jumps (approx 20ft), and a rope swing. What I appreciated was that since they recommended you don’t bring your phone, they were taking photos and videos of everyone doing all the group activities and then added them into a shared album at the end of the day. It was so nice to disconnect and not have to worry about it. ALSO, our tour guides Bradley and Amartio WERE INCREDIBLE! They are both lifeguard certified and had so much great information to share. They cut us an incredible platter of fresh fruit which was awesome as well! They dropped us off at the cutest marina based restaurant for an early dinner (approx 430pm) and then we kayaking. The was difficult to see the bio bay coloring but that was not the kayaking company’s fault. The kayaking can get pretty intense in some areas with added difficulty that your kayaking in the dark on the way back. But it was still fun all the same. It’s a long day and we got back to Old San Juan via the transport at approx 10pm. However, we are here for a long weekend and it was the perfect way to do two things on our bucket list. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND AND GO!

Our tour today with Island Journeys and Kayaking Puerto was nothing short of unforgettable. The guides are true storytellers, with a remarkable ability to make visitors fall in love with every moment of the experience. They don’t just lead a tour—they take you on a journey, one that can push your limits while also opening your eyes to the beauty, history, and culture of Puerto Rico. We had the honor of visiting the stunning El Yunque National Park with Amauri and Bradly. From start to finish, they made us feel safe and supported, even as we navigated rough—but incredibly fun—natural water slides and took the leap from jumping cliffs. Their confidence and attentiveness allowed everyone to fully enjoy the adventure. What really stood out was their genuine love for the rainforest. You could hear it in the way they spoke about the environment, sharing knowledge and stories while always keeping a close eye on the group’s safety. It added a deeper layer to the experience that made it both exciting and meaningful. We ended this portion of the day with fresh fruit from a local market—an ideal finish to an already incredible experience. The second part of the tour was just as magical: kayaking through a mangrove forest into a bioluminescent bay. As the sun set on the horizon in a truly breathtaking display, the experience shifted into something almost otherworldly. Laurie was exceptional, offering a fascinating and easy-to-understand lesson on the chemistry of the glowing plankton while also pointing out constellations above us, connecting science and wonder in a way that felt effortless. Daniel served as the group’s photographer, capturing our adventure from his perspective as we experienced the magic of the bioluminescence together. Meanwhile, Manuel and Francisco were the steady strength behind the scenes—guiding, supporting, and ensuring everyone’s safety as we navigated the mangroves in the dark with confidence. Together, this team created an experience that was equal parts thrilling, educational, and awe-inspiring. Every detail felt intentional, and every guide played a role in making the day seamless and memorable. Amauri, Bradly, Laurie, Daniel, Manuel, and Francisco truly went above and beyond—they deserve recognition (and honestly, a raise!) for delivering such an extraordinary adventure. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for excitement, natural beauty, and a deeper connection to Puerto Rico.
