We will meet at the door of San Valero Parish. We will go to the Ruzafa market together and we will make the purchase of the fresh products necessary to cook a good paella. While we are making the purchase we will tell you the origin of the paella and customs and culture of the Valencian people. Later we will walk for 8 minutes to reach the kitchen where we will hold a sangria workshop. The chef will be waiting us with some delicious tapas accompanied by sangria, beer, water ... Then our chef will explain step by step the preparation of the authentic valencian paella (chicken and rabbit) and once finished we will sit down to taste it. So much fun! We were cooking paella as a group of 3, we were drinking Sangria, and other delicious drinks, and learning alot of skills along the way. Btw we met outside the Rufazza market, outside the church, Parroquia de San Valero.

We had a great time during this experience and the hosts were wonderful. If you’re looking for a paella cooking experience in Valencia with a small group, and one that does not feel corporate, I’d highly recommend this one!

This paella cooking class from "My first Paella" was an absolute highlight during our weekend stay with work colleagues in Valencia at the end of July 2025. The 3-person cooking team knew how to keep you in a good mood from the start and prepared an excellent paella with the 22 participants in this 3-hour activity. It was by far the best paella we've eaten in a long time! Absolutely recommended activity in Valencia that provides a lot of fun and on top of that rewards with an excellent meal! I would be happy to come back!:-)

The best paella cooking experience in Valencia! The tour guide is very friendly, funny, knowledgeable and loves cooking paella. Cooking class is all set up nicely with sangria and tapas. They prepare the some part of cooking, but you get to work on some cooking steps and it’s fun. And best of all, the paella turned out very delicious! If you are in Valencia, I highly recommend this tour! You won’t regret!

One of the best cooking classes we had in years. It started at the local market with fun info on local produce. After that we proceeded to the kitchen, had a refreshment of hamon, cheese and sangria and started cooking the traditional Valencian paella. The instructors were very cool. The process was a lot of fun (I bet sangria helped) and very interactive so everyone participated. The paella ended up to be perfect (to my amateur tastebuds at least). We ate it all up of course, with some local wines. Highly recommend to anyone who likes to cook or learn about paella tradition, or just have fun drinking sangria and eating 🤣 One note: the tour address listed on Viator (literally at the steps of local church) is a meeting place before going into the market, not a kitchen itself. There, you will be organized into smaller groups that will stay together through the entire class.
