We will meet by the entrance of the museum, to skip the waiting line and enter the museum all together.

We will start by going over the Swedish Empire and the war in which Gustav Adolf had the ship commissioned, what was the purpose of the ship? Who was the enemy during these years? Something happened during the construction and the ship sank, what happened? and whose fault was it?

Many years later it was found and salvaged, but this was no easy task. We will go over the engineering project together and show you the maps used in the 19th century to find the location of the ship, and how it was found in the 1950s. Once it was salvaged, a time capsule of the 17th century was opened and many secrets were revealed of how life was back then.

This tour is the perfect choice for the ones who want to get a deep knowledge about everything that happened, in and out of the ship. Come full of questions, because we want to answer all of them!

Gaia was wonderful. I loved her enthusiasm and she was very knowledgeable. She reached out 24 hrs prior to the tour to let us know where to meet which was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Gaia to learn about the history of the area and all the little known information about the Vasa.

  • Fantastic walking tour of the Vasa museum

We took this two hour walking tour of the Vasa Museum with a small group of around eight people, and it was fantastic! Our guide Viola was incredibly personable and enthusiastic, clearly very knowledgeable, and kept everyone engaged throughout the tour. Having a guide is definitely worth it at this museum. Viola shared so many fascinating details about the ship and its history, which we never would have learned on our own. Her passion for the subject really made the museum come alive, and the stories she told added context and depth to what we were seeing. The Vasa itself is impressive, but the tour made it even more special. We left with a much greater understanding and appreciation of this remarkable ship. We would highly recommend booking a guided tour to anyone visiting the Vasa Museum!

  • Vasa with Viola

Viola was an excellent guide. She was knowledgeable about the history of the ship and made the visit enjoyable. I think without a guide it would not have made much sense. She knew how to explain things and keep the group interested. When the tour had finished we still had time to go back and look at things she had not had time to cover but the museum closes at 5 so if you want more time to explore the museum yourself then choose the morning option. The tour was a good length and Viola was very enthusiastic about the subject. I would recommend this tour.
