What To Expect
Volcan Villarrica
We will have the option to ascend one of the most active volcanoes in South America with a height of 2,847 meters. In the ascent, we can experience the mountaineering in different phases, from walking with sticks towards the summit, to hiking with crampons and an ice ax in more exposed areas, where always under the support of our expert guides, a significant mountain experience will be lived. On the summit, we can clearly observe the activity of this sacred volcano through its fumarole and if the weather allows us, we might be able to observe the incandescent magma inside. On the descent, the panoramic views of the lakes in the area and the geography of the place, will give us clear information of the unique natural environment where we are. We will be able to go down sections sliding on snow toboggans. We will climb 1,700 metres in elevation, with the possibility of taking a snow lift on the first stretch. 3 hours of the mentioned time are for transfers to this point

5.00I loved my experience and would highly recommend Zenit, particularly as I was in Pucón for some time and have heard from many others that did the hike with different companies. For me, Zenit are a good blend of friendly, fun, and conscientious. I was lucky to make it to the top with a small group, and Francis and Felipe were our guides, and they were both excellent. They paced our trek, gave us support, prioritised our safety, and were great company! I also found Natalia in the office to be great, she is patient, conscientious, and helpful. Thank you, team!

5.00Outstanding in all aspects, a fantastic adventure with attentive and professional guides. They were clear what physical fitness was required and explains the use of the technical equipment in a simple to understand method at the appropriate time. The summit of this active volcano is amazing. The method of decent, sliding on the snow was fantastic fun, with clear instructions and supervision by the guides, we felt safe and in control. Overall, very good value from Zenith,a “must do” adventure when visiting Pucon.

5.00The team at Zenit had the right balance of being safe, organised and fun! I’d book again with Zenit. The trek took 7hrs up and down however it isn’t too challenging it is taken at a good pace so you can enjoy the views and scenery. I’d recommend taking the first chairlift to maximise time on the mountain with the view. The crater at the top is incredible!! They will advise on the right equipment and provide most of it.

5.00I had a fantastic day going up Vulcan Villarica under the watchful eyes of the guides from Zenit. I was outfitted to withstand the weather on the top, the guides adapted perfectly to different speeds within our groups, I felt safe and looked after every step of the way!!!!

5.00I recently hiked the volcano in Pucón with this company, and the experience was absolutely outstanding. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. All the necessary equipment was provided. The guides were highly trained, attentive, and genuinely involved throughout the entire tour. They kept an eye on everyone, checked how we were doing, and made sure no one felt left behind. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the guides created a sense of teamwork that made the whole hike even more enjoyable. I felt completely safe the entire time, and the final part of the tour — sliding down on sleds — was unforgettable, thrilling, and so much fun! It was truly the highlight of the day. I absolutely loved the experience and highly recommend this company to anyone visiting Pucón.

5.00Performing the ascent with Zenit was the best experience of the trip to the south of Chile, from the beginning they were super attentive in everything, from before we started the tour, as we had to reschedule. The luggage provided, the going to the base of the volcano, the ascent and the return all super attentive! At the time of the ascent we noticed that I was going a little slower than the rest of the teams (they were all taller hehe) and then one of the guides (Gonzalo) suggested me to go at my pace even if we go further back than the rest, so I was very lucky as he provided me with a lot of information , evacuated all my doubts and supported me at all times (even took pictures and videos sensational) until culminating the ascent that by the way we arrived only a few minutes after the rest of the team. The descent was great! They even waited for us with a bite and tasting at the place. I definitely plan to go back to Chile, and make a crossing with Zenit again. A 10 in professionalism the whole team!
