It must have been the Daily Telegraph that a couple of years ago mentioned a reason to visit each Greek island. For Crete, the main reason was the food. Locals couldn't agree more, as 90% of the Greek islands might have unparalleled beauty, but Crete offers the best quality of food on top of that as well. For this reason, a food tour in town would have been the very best idea.
This experience is going to give you the opportunity to taste an abundance of local products, from the greatest Cretan producers. From the classic Raki / Tsikoudia, to Cretan Bougatsa, the local varieties of local Cheese, olives, and even the very best sweets.
In order to make this tour unique, we have added a visit to a local herbs and products store, (which, among locals, is considered the most secret gem) and also a visit to the best traditional manufacturer of Cretan knives.
In a few words, if someone is in Crete in order to experience its authenticity, this tour is exactly what they need.

Tasting our way through Chania!! We visited and ate such a variety of traditional Greek foods! Including an organic Herb and tea shop and Olive Oil, honey sampling! Strolling through busy and very peaceful small streets. Definitely a great way to get a feel for the area! Thank you for sharing your city!

Must do tour! Our walking food tour of Chania with Christos was nothing short of incredible. Christos is kind, knowledgeable, and made the tour unforgettable. By the end of our tour we felt like we were friends with Christos. We have taken food tours in cities all around Europe and this is by far our favorite.

My husband and I booked a private food tour with Christos and it was excellent. We got an opportunity to taste some of the delicious foods that Chania is famous for. We left full and also learned a lot about Chania. Christos was an amazing guide and we enjoyed so much getting to know him. He took us to watch knives being made by hand and to a small herbal store where we were taught about plants and herbal remedies. He took up to streets in the old town that we would never have found on our own. He was so kind and easy to chat with and made certain that we were having the best time and enjoying every moment. He even made reservations for us for dinner that night at his favorite restaurant. He has been a great resource for other questions and recommendations for the remainder of trip. So not hesitate to book this tour!

Christos was such a wonderful, personal tour guide! He gave us great details about foods, the area and just a pleasure to be exploring with! Can't say enough good things about his personal knowledge and his acquaintance with local market owners! Great tour!

Great food and a great tour guide! Giannis gave us the history of foods and Crete while we walked through the city. Every stop had great, authentic food. Favorite stops were the herbalist who shared his knowledge and passion about his herbs and teas, and the “grocery store” near the old harbor, where we learned about and sampled olive oils, honey, jams and butters. This was a day well spent and very much enjoyed!
