  Amazing tour, Claudette's historical knowledge was exceptional. Her connection with the community was awesome to see as well, from the fruit stands we stopped at to the many hello's and waves she received along the walk. I appreciated how she took us from a big picture historical context down to the personal stories of real historical figures; it really helps you consider the complexity of history. The tour ended up being a good 3hr, so if you are conscious of timing give yourself some cushion. Although you should do that anywhere on this gorgeous island anyway :)

  Claudette's passion and knowledge made this a stand out tour and brought Barbados and Bridgetown to life through the centuries. It was never hurried and questions and conversation were encouraged at all times.

  We had great visit with Claudette, our guide who is a historian who brings the history and social evolution of Bridgetown to life. Walking through old Bridgetown allowed us to appreciate the activity and history amongst the old buildings and narrow streets, hundreds of years old. Truly a Unesco world heritage site. Tasting local fish cakes, fruit fresh juice through the tour is a nice touch. We highly recommend!

  This was absolutely outstanding. Claudette teaches and studies history and her passion for the subject, and her passion for her nation, shone throughout the tour. Her knowledge was phenomenal, and she delivered human stories with charm and humour. She engaged with the difficult reality of enslavement, without making the conversation difficult. As she said ‘I wasn’t here, and nor were you. We haven’t done anything wrong!’ I could have listened to her for hours, as it was 3.5 hours passed in a flash. Definitely my favourite thing I have done in Barbados

  Claudette is a fabulous host , really informative tour from a true Bajan through and through . I appreciated the extras , do book in and learn so much more about Bridgetown that you would definitely miss with out Claudette . Thank you from a Sorel and Ginger fan

  Excellent! Claudette has an amazing personality and this helped bring all the stories of Bridges own and Barbados to life. She is an integral part of the community - so many people stopped her today hello! Her local upbringing and history training and education means she imparted information much better than anyone else could.   Went a couple weeks back with some friends on this walking tour of Bridgetown. Our guide, Claudette, was EXCEPTIONAL. She is a historian who clearly loves her country, loves the history, loves keeping up on the history, and, above all, is committed to her craft. She was a font of knowledge and she is an excellent story teller. Not only did she share the history of Barbados, but she deftly wove in current events and where/how Barbados is situated in today's world. We were treated to some (unexpected) goodies, including some fresh juices at the end which were delicious. If you're in Barbados and want a dose of culture and history, this is well worth your time. You'll be on your feet for a few hours, so dress accordingly. And above all, make sure you get Claudette - she is a gem.

  Our guide Claudette was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed hearing the history of Barbados and seeing the main sites of Bridgetown. Claudette answered all of our questions patiently fortunately we were a small group of 5 adults so she didn’t have too many to contend with. I would definitely recommend this walking tour. The meat pastry (sausage roll) and very chilled fruit juice were much appreciated and a very nice touch.

  Charlotte was so informative and clearly proud of her country and its history. As a historian who continues to research, read and learn herself, she taught us so much and was great at answering questions in a fun and relaxed manner. The water, juice and local snacks were a nice touch! My daughter is here in Barbados on a semester abroad and I think all international students should be required (or at least encouraged!) to take this tour.
