Join me for an authentic walk through the historic Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with winding alleys, vibrant souks, and centuries-old monuments. Together, we’ll explore hidden mosques, madrasas, shrines, and pass through lively markets full of colors, scents, and sounds.

We’ll also stop by colonial-era landmarks like the Cathedral of Saint Vincent de Paul and the bustling Marché Central, before taking a break at a traditional café tucked inside the Medina — a great moment to relax and experience local life.

Our journey ends in Kasbah Square, a site rich in history and a powerful symbol of modern Tunisia.

What To Expect

1

St. Vincent de Paul Cathedral

We’ll stop in front of the Cathedral of Saint Vincent de Paul — one of the last reminders of the French colonial era in downtown Tunis. With its mix of Moorish and Romanesque styles, this impressive church stands out in a mostly Muslim city. I’ll share with you its fascinating history, the symbolism behind its design, and how it fits into the story of modern Tunis.

2

Marche central de Tunis, Fondouk El Ghala

We’ll pass by the vibrant Marché Central — the main market of Tunis and a true feast for the senses. You’ll see colorful displays of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, spices, and flowers, all in a lively atmosphere full of local energy. I’ll tell you how this market has been at the heart of daily life in Tunis for over a century, and we’ll talk about what Tunisians typically shop for, eat, and cook. It’s a great place to feel the real rhythm of the city.

  • Moezzos — Tunis, all senses awakened

Moezzos — Tunis, all senses awakened The day begins at St. Vincent de Paul Cathedral, then in front of the statue of Ibn Khaldoun where Moezzos speaks of this giant of thought with a warm pride. The medina ignites all the senses — alleys, craftsmen, and those scents of jasmine, dama noche, neroli that transport elsewhere. Its stopovers at the gargotiers, those local flavors gleaned along the way — little gifts that make all the difference. At La Goulette, the table is a party: fish couscous, grilled sea bream, crispy bricks. Tunisian cuisine is a language of love. At Carthage, Moezzos says the essential thing: “it is not enough to contemplate from afar, one must feel the remains, soak the body and soul of history.” The baths, the theatre, the aqueduct — we don’t look at them, we inhabit them. In the final bouquet, Sidi Bou Said and its blue and white alleys on the sea, the warm babolina, a typical café, the Mediterranean below — the perfect epilogue. Moezzos is passion, culture, and rare human kindness. He does not recite a circuit — he offers you his country. 🌟 Book with your eyes closed. You'll talk about it for years. Chokran jazilan, ya Moezzos! 🌺

What a wonderful introduction to Tunisia, Tunis, and the old city! Aladino was a fantastic guide. He took care the explain everything in detail, both historical and current, and really made the city come to life. We visited the church and library, walked through the market, popped into some shops, had tea at a café, and spent nearly 4 hours learning and exploring. He went over and above our expectations. Would definitely recommend!
