We start this tour at Kilkenny Castle which was founded after the Norman conquest of Ireland. The castle has been rebuilt to suit the needs of its inhabitants.
Continuing with our visit, we will head to the city centre, right in the midpoint of the Medieval Mile where Rothe House and Gardens are located (This attraction on Monday will be replaced by St. Canice´s Cathedral)
Kyteler’s Inn is a public house located in the heart of medieval Kilkenny
Butter Slip is the most picturesque of Kilkenny’s narrow medieval corridors
Our next and final stop: House of Waterford Crystal, is a luxury crystal manufacture where authentic and masterful crystal pieces come to life

Kilkenny Castle
Kilkenny Castle was founded after the Norman conquest of Ireland. The castle has been rebuilt to suit the needs of its inhabitants. This grand country house surrounded by parkland with mature trees, woodlands and a terraced rose garden amongst other is a Victorian remodelling of the thirteenth century defensive Castle. Rothe House & Garden
This merchant’s house, built around two courtyards, was restored in 1966. Now it is the headquarters of the Kilkenny Archaeological Society. (This attraction on Monday will be replaced by St. Canice´s Cathedral) PLEASE NOTE WILL BE SELF GUIDE TOUR

5.00We had a fabulous day with Brian. He drove us in his comfortable van from the Dunmore Port to Waterford to Killkenny and back. The day long tour was perfect to stop at the sights, walk unique areas, have a sit down lunch and return to our Cruise Ship on time. He was fun to discuss history and politics, and he shared many interesting facts and stories. We all enjoyed Brian and the experience of this area very much.

5.00We will always remember with joy our day with Brede as our guide. We toured the Rock of Cashel, Kilkenny Castle and Rothe House and Garden. Each member of our group had their particular favorite but everyone loved it all. We all agree that the best part of the tour was discussing Irish history and culture with Brede. She was so knowledgeable and personable and was especially kind to a member of our group with mobility issues. We hope to be back in the future on another tour!

1.00Tour could not be conducted because of weather conditions. Cruise shop not able to dock. According to Viator refund policy we should have been refunded 100%. Did not happen. Only provided a 50% refund $660. While Viator pocketed the other $660.00 with. Phony baloney excuse. You think you are protected when you read the fine print but you have no recourse and they know it. Use Tours by Locals instead!

5.00We had a wonderful experience. Everything went like clock work. Picked up on time. Itinerary as described. Our guide was good natured and knowledgeable. She even worked in lunch which I had left out. My Mother loved and collected Waterford crystal. She would have loved the tour of the factory. The 7 of us had a memorable day. 3 generations traveling together.

Not worth the $1,000- take a cab

2.00Most importantly, the guide was great. The car was wonderful. My issue is two fold. First, the ad promises paid tickets to three sites. No tickets were provided to any site. Most importantly, we arrived at Waterford Crystal, and fortunately were able to buy late tickets. None were even reserved and space was limited. We were lucky to see the tour. Second, even if you travel only occasionally, you don’t need this. This tour is for older folks or those who never travel. For $1,000, this just doesn’t have value. You can take a taxi to Killarney and buy the the tickets yourself. It is a small place. Waterford Crystal is on the main drag. You could spend $200 (including tickets) or pay $1,000 and get a fancy 30 minute ride with no tickets (though you paid for them).
