Discover New Zealand’s iconic Piha Beach on our West Coast Discovery tour! Starting with a pick-up from the 4 hotels listed in Auckland CBD, enjoy a 30-minute scenic drive through the Waitakere Ranges. Our first stop is the Arataki Visitor Centre, where you’ll learn about New Zealand’s native trees and enjoy sweeping views over the ranges—an ideal start to exploring the west coast.
Next, we take a 20-minute drive to Karekare Waterfalls, where a short, easy walk leads you to this stunning natural site, perfect for photos. Then, we head to the famous Piha Surf Beach, known for its black iron-sand and thrilling waves from the Tasman Sea, where you can go for a swim or just relax and enjoy the stunning views.
Be sure to visit Lion Rock, located at the heart of the beach, for breathtaking views and unforgettable photo opportunities.
After that, we head back to Auckland CBD.

5.00A great discovery tour of the west coast of Auckland - a world that is so uniquely special and different to the city that is completely accessible. The trio of experiences on this tour were complementary (mountain ranges and viewpoints, black sand beaches, waterfalls) and impressively gorgeous! Our driver/guide, David, was a fount of information and insight! Highly recommended.

5.00We were very lucky to spend our day with Andy. It was just us (a couple) and another person - so we had a feeling this was more like a private tour :) Andy was great - such a kind person with a knowledge about the country. Got picked and dropped directly from and to our hotel. The van was comfortable. We learned a lot and got to enjoy meat pies in a small local cafe. The beach is spectacular. Waterfall is great. Waitakere Ranges and Visitor Center informing and relaxing.

5.00My mum and I went on this tour together. It was really well done! Adil was a very informative and welcoming tour guide/driver. He was very friendly and considerate. We saw 2 waterfalls, a beautiful black sand beach, and lions rock. Highly recommend!

5.00This was a beautiful trip. We had great views from the peaks, a sturdy hike to see a beautiful waterfall, ending with lunch and time to admire the dark sand beach. Our guide, Aiden, was fantastic!

5.00We had a great time with Adil as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed seeing the waterfall and the beach. He also took us to One Tree Hill and a drive across the bridge.

5.00Adil, our guide was terrific. He shared his knowledge of New Zealand history and the history and character of the Auckland area. He was able to explain the significance of each site we visited. When the main road was closed to a waterfall he got us there by way of a winding backroad so we didn't miss out. I woukd recommend this tour and especially Adil as a guide.

5.00Great tour. Stephen was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to you. No lunch included but he will ask to take you to a spot if you’re hungry and he took us to buy icecream. We even did a bonus visit to the Auckland Winter Garden. Recommend to take this tour.
