My experience with the Women-led Coffee Farm Trek exceeded my expectations. I was the only traveler on the tour. Still, the women were so gracious with their time and attention in showing me how they farm and process the coffee beans. I felt humbled to receive their time and attention on a Sunday. I learned a lot about the process and especially enjoyed the cupping room experience. The women made it fun, and I was surprisingly able to distinguish the coffee scents and flavors. The tour, including the drive out to the farm, took all day, which made the admission fee, although expensive, totally worth the money, especially considering that I was the only person on the tour. A special shout-out to my guide, Kevine, from Question Coffee. She made the whole experience very special for me. I arrived early before an organized safari tour just for this trek, and I'm so glad I did. I highly recommend it if you have an extra day in Kigali, love coffee, and want to support Rwandan Women Coffee Farmers!

This has to be one of the top 5 Viator trips we have been on. If you love coffee, you need to go, if you don’t like coffee, you need to go. If I could give it a 10, I would have.

I had the most amazing day full of coffee and amazing women. I got to learn so much about specialty coffee and experience the process from planting to tasting the coffee by myself. The lunch was also really great, and my tour guide was truly lovely. It’s a great one day experience and I will definitely come back during harvesting season! Murakoze!

A MUST DO in Kigali!!! I’ve been a fan of Question Coffee for many years now, and the Coffee Trek was spectacular. It was so amazing to learn about every step of sustainable coffee production from the incredible women coffee farmers. They were so knowledgeable and welcoming. Also, our guide Patty was the best! It was a pleasure to spend the day with her. A wonderful experience overall! Thank you!

It was a great opportunity to not only see how coffee beans are produced and processed, but also the picturesque Rwandan rural scenery. Coop ladies at the plantation provided a warm welcome and it was overall a pleasant experience interacting with the locals.

To took part on the coffee experience where we visit Question Coffee, a coop owned and operated by women. We were treated toa visit to the plantation where we were greeted by coffee farmers who sang a welcome song with words meant to celebrate coffee growing. The farmers introduced themselves and followed on by sharing the various steps of how to plant coffee and how to nurture the saplings until they are productive and also how to maintain the plants to keep them productive. The visit next led us to the washing station for the sector (many coffee farms will send their beans to a washing station for , sorting, grading, washing and eventually drying). A few sectors will then go into a district. At the end of each season, the earnings from the sale of the beans will be distributed back to the farmers who have brought their beans to the washing station. The whole visit finished with a tasting of the different grades and washing methods of the beans. The visit was both educational and very touching as we could see how the women were empowered by their ability to earn a living and to have control of their own lives.

Such a fantastic day. Question Coffee were very warm and welcoming, with our tour guide full of useful and interesting information. It’s was excellent to meet all the TUK coffee growers, with them showing us the coffee growing process from seed to harvest. Very friendly and so passionate about coffee! We’ll never look at coffee the same way again - can’t recommend this day trip enough.

What a wonderful daytrip! My guide, Patty, was very helpful and joined in every aspect of the tour. Upon arrival, be prepared to be greeted with song - and definitely join in the dance! Then you get a thorough introduction to the cultivation, washing, and preparation of coffee using old-school techniques that you’ll get to experience yourself hands-on. The result is a delicious cup, and wonderful vibes from the women farmers.
