Though winter can seem like the least likely time to go for a walk in the woods, it is really one of the most rewarding. The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem comes alive as wildlife moves from summer to winter ranges. Snow illuminates the landscape in a way you may never have noticed. Wildlife tracks appear frozen in time, and plants and rivers allow for our reflection on resilience and longevity. On this private full-day snowshoe trek, you will explore the environment in an in-depth, hands-on way. Your expert naturalist guide will interpret what you find and what you see, and you may be surprised with the story that arises.

What To Expect
Paradise Valley
Paradise Valley runs north-south, bordered on the north by the town of Livingston, MT and on the south by Gardiner, MT. The valley lies between the Gallatin Range to the west and the Absaroka Range to the east. It is also a major corridor of the Yellowstone River and is home to diverse flora and fauna as well as geological wonders. Our safari makes a stop here in search of wildlife. Your guide will educate you on the historical or geological significance of your stop.
Lamar Valley
The Lamar Valley is located in the northeastern region of Yellowstone National Park and is well known for its natural beauty, flora and fauna. Such an abundance of wildlife exists here that it has been dubbed "the Serengeti of North America". We will continue on snowshoe here, in order to track and spot wildlife.

Best Yellowstone Tour - Incredibly Professional, Knowledgeable and Enjoyable

5.00This was the trip of a lifetime and we really had the best experience with the Yellowstone Safari Co. We were picked up by Adam early in the morning from our home in Big Sky - Adam was super friendly and had coffee and snacks all ready for us right at the pickup point. Once we got to Bozeman, Grant, the head guide of the company jumped into the car and brought us into the Yellowstone Park through the North entrance. Grant was super knowledgeable, incredibly friendly and took the time to really educate us on the animals and the park. We encountered 15 grey wolves where the lead wolf chased away a coyote. To be able to witness this in the wild in their natural habitat was absolutely mind blowing and we were so grateful for this experience. Wolves are incredibly difficult to find and the fact that Grant had managed to locate them, helped us set up the scopes where we could observe from a very safe distance was just amazing. We saw many other animals along the way - elks, bisons, big horn sheep, amongst others. We had a delicious lunch and then took a beautiful little hike around the geysers. Every step of the way, Grant made sure to look out for everything we set out to see and the entire operation was just incredibly professional and immensely enjoyable. We cannot recommend Yellowstone Safari Co enough the next time you want to visit the Yellowstone. Everything from the start to finish was so easy and smooth - thank you Adam and Grant for a wonderful day. We have done the Yellowstone tour with other companies before and I can confidently tell you there is no one better in this business than Yellowstone Safari Co.

5.00We had a great experience on the Yellowstone Safari Co. Tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informed us about the various areas we visited in the Park. We were fortunate to spot a wolf, bears and elk on our tour. It was nice having the binoculars provided by Yellowstone Safari Co. and our guide also had a telescope that provided a better view of the bears. We spent 3 more days in Yellowstone and this tour gave us a good overview for planning the remaining time we spent there.

5.00Loved our experience with Yellowstone Safari Company. Our guide, Randolph, was extremely knowledgeable, very accommodating (and punctual) and great with the kids. We toured the park (van and snow coach tour) and snowshoed. Randolph was able to track down a couple of the wolves, which was an amazing experience. Would highly suggest this company and Randolph in particular.

5.00We spent the day with Yellowstone Safari Co. taking a private Full-day Snowshoe Safari Adventure. Zak, our guide, spent lots of time making sure my 10 year old grandson was safe and comfortable in the snow. He met all of our needs in pointing out all sorts of wildlife. Lunch was great. Snowshoeing was lots of fun, and so beautiful to be in Yellowstone in the midst of winter. We hope to visit again very soon! Yellowstone Safari Co. is professional, experienced and simply a great team!!

5.00Two excellent days with private guides Gabrielle and Hannah, both great. Family of 11 and they knew how to manage the spectrum of ages and interests. Engaging conversations, passionate and knowledgeable about the area, history and wildlife. A super pleasant experience, they knew when we should be at various sites including popular stops like Old Faithful in order to avoid crowds and/or get the best viewing. It is a pricey tour but would highly recommend.

4.00The views were amazing! Our tour guide was Ms Rey - she was very nice and engaging with the children. She was also very well equipped with binoculars, a telescope and umbrellas, all of which came in handy. We saw lots of bison, and also bears and a wolf. The snacks were alright - nut bars, tangerines and apples. The lunch was good - chicken on focaccia - but there were no vegetarian options. We highly recommend this tour. Be sure to take all of the items indicated in your confirmation email, although the hat may not be necessary.

5.00Our guide was Gabrielle and she was the best! Picked us up at our hotel since we ended up being the only guests that day (we didn’t originally book a private tour) and she was very accommodating and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the park and wildlife that we saw, and saw tons of bison, pronghorn antelope, a fox, a big horned sheep, some wolves, a coyote, a hawk and a bald Eagle, a mother bear still in her hibernation den, etc. during snowshoeing she pointed out the different animal tracks and took us to an overlook of a beautiful river canyon. Snacks and lunch were great and she was willing to stop for tea at a little gem in Gardiner by the entrance of the park. Gabrielle even gave us recommendations for our next day in Big Sky and our dinner that evening in Bozeman. Highly recommend. We will request Gabrielle on our next trip to Bozeman! Yes, you could drive through the park on your own, but the knowledge of what trails to snowshoe when everything is covered, the binoculars and scope, and the general spotting ability of our guide made the day feel truly worthwhile. She even airdropped us the pictures from the scope at the end of the day.

5.00This was the highlight of my recent visit to the USA. Gary picked me up at 5.30am in Bozeman and we had a full day viewing the wildlife and sights of Yellowstone. I feel incredibly fortunate to have visited when the North Gate had just reopened. We were there early and it felt we had the run of the park. Gary was an amazing wildlife spotter - it was awesome to see the Bald Headed Eagle before we even got into the park...and Gary even spotted a Grizzy Bear and raced to set up the spotting scope for me. I loved that we were able to tailor the trip to what I really wanted to see. Thanks Gary and the team!

5.00I have been to Yellowstone many times, but Yellowstone Safari was the best trip yet. Since I am a local I never thought to go on a guided tour but it is such an amazing experience. Ash and Scott were our guides and they had so much knowledge about the park, the animals, and where all the activity was. We got to see a bear den, wolves, and much more. It was such a treat to see Yellowstone with the experts. I would definitely recommend Yellowstone Safari to locals and tourists alike!!

5.00Our safari to Yellowstone Park was spectacular. The park is BEAUTIFUL in the winter, the accommodations and food were outstanding. Our guides, Ash and Scott went out of their way to show us all that they could, their passion for what they do is evident. The wildlife we discovered was way more than we expected, and the guides had firsthand knowledge, educating us all along the way. Highly recommended, a must-do if you are in the area! Pro tip: If you book during the winter, especially on a weekday, you pretty much have the park to yourself.
