I agreed to this tour after the tour operator notified me that the Lower Zambezi white water rafting trip I'd booked was not operating due to the high water seasonal closure. I knew that this would not be an exhilarating experience, nor that abundant wildlife is guaranteed. But I did not expect to be rushed through the trip so much so that I spent more time in the truck to and from the park than I did on the river. It was supposed to be 2.5 hours on the water but we were barely on it for 1 hour. After paddling along the Zimbabwean side banks for a bit we went right for the middle of the river and rode the current as if we were in a race. The guides also arrived an hour earlier than planned to pick me up in the morning, and so combining those factors, "lunch" was offered at around 10am. Hopefully this was a one-off bad experience, but I know many other companies offer this type of tour and so I'd recommend checking around. The river itself is nice and not something you wanted to be rushed through.
