The 2-Day trip is a short rewarding safari experience to Uganda’s largest and most famous wildlife destination, home to the African Big 5 game. Murchison Falls National Park hosts a medley of wildlife animals including big cats like lions, and leopards and other animals like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelopes among others.

The park is crossed by the mighty river Nile that attracts large concentrations of animals like hippos, crocodiles as well as the rare shoebill stork, the Nile also forces itself into a narrow gorge forming the world’s most powerful waterfalls

The boat cruise along the river Nile to the bottom of the falls and hike to the top of the falls shall infuse you with a sense of discovery of Nature revealed by unique breathtaking scenic views of the splash of misty droplets of water from bottom to top of the falls amidst the distinctive colors of the Rainbow.

Murchison Falls National Park

Early at 6:00 am, you will be picked up by the driver guide and embark on a 5-6 hour journey to Murchison Falls NP in northern Uganda with a stopover for lunch in Masindi town. Upon arrival at 12:30 mid-day, you will register and then proceed for a 2 hour boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom to Falls. The boat cruise offers you ecstatic views of wildlife along the river banks and the beautiful scenery. Hippos, Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards, and several water birds are constant sights, while other animals such as antelopes, buffaloes, elephants, are seen at the banks to quenching their thirst and cool off the heat. Retreat from the boat cruise and go on a hike to the top of the waterfalls that will give you astonishing views of the whole Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge of about 7 meters between the rocks and emerging with a thunderous sound and plunging into a whirlpool about 42 meters deep forming a splash of misty water droplets from bottom to top of the falls.

You will rise up by 5:30am for breakfast and head off for a 4 hour safari in Murchison Falls National Park. The part of the park on the northern bank of the Nile is predominantly covered by savannah which is the favorite habitat for many animals such as the grazers. It is therefore the part of Murchison Falls National Park where the game drives are done. You will drive through several tracks and watch an array of wildlife and enjoy the beautiful savanna landscape. Common animals include: giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, pattas monkeys, and several species of antelopes. Chances of sighting the lions, hyenas, jackals, and leopards among others are high but never guaranteed.
