3 hours of Newcastle history spanning 2000+ years! We learned about castles, walls, towers, architecture, churches, the cathedral, marketplaces, squares, statues, the River Tyne, 7 bridges, theaters, concert halls, city government, the Romans, the library, all while looping around the city on a sunny afternoon. We parted ways at the Millennium Bridge learning sooo much! Thank you Martin, well done!

Great intro to the city of Newcastle! Martin shares his wealth of knowledge about history, local culture, good pubs (!) and all manner of other things. It really was a fantastic three hours - the only problem being I didn't want it to end!

The two of us took part in this tour, but that didn't stop Martin from showing us around the city in detail and telling us about the history of the industrial revolution up to the current, modern situation.

Martin is an exceptional guide, both friendly and highly knowledgeable. The tour was thoroughly enjoyable, and the three hours passed by quickly. This tour is highly recommended for new visitors to the area, as it provides an excellent introduction to the captivating city of Newcastle. You'll learn about the area's rich history and gain a comprehensive understanding of your surroundings.

I had a great time (as it happened, I was the entire group that day), and came away with a strong sense that Newcastle is a fascinating city. My guide, Martin Stait, was a veritable fountain of knowledge! And the sunny weather helped. Strongly recommended.

This tour was fantastic - I am a big fan of city tours and this one was one of the best I have done. This is mainly down to the guide who was very knowledgable about the city its history, its culture and its people - as well as being a good guy, with an easy manner and a sense of humour, who was good company for the 3 hours. The other star show was the city which surprised me profoundly. I have been to most of England's cities, and Newcastle is now my new favourite, after London. A vibrant city of culture, a plethora of bars, restaurants, theatres, art galleries, music venues - friendly people - but also a fascinating history. Elegant Georgian architecture, grand parades, historic markets and a spectacular waterfront punctuated with bridges. So much to experience. Strongly recommended.
