Pick up from your hotel in JHB or O.R. Tambo Airport and travel via the Highveld grasslands to Tremisana Game Lodge in the Kruger Park. Board an open Landcruiser for a 4h Sunset Drive, your first opportunity to experience the fauna and flora of Africa. Watch the magnificent African sunset and, after dark, use a spotlight to view nocturnal animals. Dinner at the Marula Tree Boma will be a BUSH BBQ. After dinner, continue with your Night Drive and overnight in en suite air conditioned chalets.

Awaken at sunrise for an exhilarating day of unforgettable bush life. Drive to a remote venue, where you enjoy a 3.5h “walk in the wild”. Your experienced, armed field guides will lead you through the bush at a pace you can handle in search of the Big Five. The thrill of following Africa’s large animals until you are close enough to take a decent photo will remain with you forever. Adrenalin surges will be acute, notwithstanding the fact that your rangers are adequately armed in case of danger. Return to Tremisana for brunch. Later you may sleep in your air conditioned chalet or swim in the pool. Our Lapa has extensive wildlife magazines. Lunch will be served at 13h30. At 15h30 we enjoy a 4h sundowner game drive. On the game drive your rangers will be in radio contact so as to keep us informed of the movements of the game. Return to Tremisana at around 19h30.

We travel to the Orpen Gate of Kruger Park where we board our open Gameviewer. The absence of windows and the elevated vantage position allow for excellent photographic opportunities. You will have an amazing chance not only to view game but also to listen to and smell the African bush and its denizens. There will be regular stops at picnic spots, rest camps and places of interest. Your experienced ranger will show you many animals and birds that frequent this wildlife paradise. The Orpen-Satara-Nwanedzi regions boast open plains and support large herds of zebra, giraffe and antelope that attract numerous predators. In fact the zones we visit have the highest concentration of lions in Africa !

Enjoy an early morning Sunrise Drive on the Open Landcruiser. After a hearty breakfast, there will be time to purchase some memorabilia from our shop and take your last photos of the luxuriant lush gardens at Tremisana. We then drive to the awesome Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon. Return to JHB in the late afternoon. Airport drop off by arrangement.

5.00Warm, welcoming and knowledgeable introduction to the wildlife of the region. The guides were all good. Among the many memorable experiences, we especially appreciated a walk where we learned a huge amount about how people have lived and still live connected with the landscape and its plants and animals. Tremisama is beautiful and comfortable, with delicious home-cooked food. It was wonderful that wildlife was all around, in the trees, around the waterhole in front of the terrace and even on the terrace. From pick-up to drop-off and all the experiences between, everything was perfectly organised so that we didn’t have to worry about anything. The staff were simply delightful! We can completely recommend Viva Safaris if you are coming to South Africa.

5.00Everything perfect, spectacular attention, all the staff are very attentive and willing, from the guides of the departures to the people who served breakfast and dinner. The person who resects you and organizes your activities every day, a genius! A pleasure, we saw many animals and the guides approached and braked so we can take the best pictures!! Let's hear it for this whole stand!!! And the well-tailored facilities for a safari, every candlelit dinner and stove were magical! Along with the always varied homemade food. I recommend it 1000x1000

5.00Our family all loved the safari experience provided by Luke and his fantastic team. The whole four-days was superbly organised - all the team members knew what every set of guests were doing each day and what animals we had seen. We got up close to far more animals than we were expecting. Watching an elephant visiting the water hole as we drunk morning coffee on the terrace was only surpassed by the rhino the following day. If you want knowledgeable passionate guides who love what they and a supporting team providing tasty home cooked food, then this company is for you. They are a family who welcome you into their home on a wild and exciting private reserve.
Perfect from start to finish, would do it again!

5.00Wow! Simply wow! I spent four wonderful days at Tremisana Lodge with my daughter, on my very first safari holiday, and all my expectations were exceeded. Every day was perfectly organised and we were well informed on what would be happening in advance. Our guides and trackers were very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful, taking care to explain a lot about the animals that we were privileged to see. Huge thanks to Luke, Marc, Andy, Solly, Smiley and the rest of the crew whose names I have forgotten, for a truly memorable experience. The lodge itself was perfect, clean and comfortable with plenty of space in the room, and the home-cooked food provided by Mama D and her crew was delicious. I would do this trip with Viva again without hesitation, maybe next time staying a bit longer.

5.00Oh wow….. Totally great experience. Everything was so well organised, professional and friendly from start to finish. They certainly know what they are doing! Tremisana Lodge was very comfortable, clean and in a lovely setting. All the staff were lovely and friendly. A special mention for Mama G and co’s cooking that was tasty and generous. The guides were all so enthusiastic and clearly love what they do. We had a great experience on every drive out. The guides were full of information and knowledge in a really friendly way. We were very blessed and saw a wide range of animals, including the Big 5. A totally unforgettable experience Thank you

5.00For a budget traveler like myself, the four day classic safari was worth every penny. I cannot say enough positive things about Viva Safaris. The experience was awesome and unforgettable. The various guides were knowledgeable, informative, friendly and invested in ensuring our successful viewing by offering multiple tours a day from daybreak to night. The rooms, while simple, but comfortable and very clean. The food was tasty, plentiful, varied and accommodating of a variety of diets. Transportation to and from Joberg was comfortable, well organized and on schedule. From the cooks, to housekeepers, guides and administration, these folks are professionals committed to participants’ outstanding experience. Grateful I chose them.

5.00We had an absolutely amazing experience with Viva Safaris on our 4-day safari! From the moment we were picked up at our hotel in Johannesburg, everything was incredibly well organised and seamless. The team really knows how to make the most out of every day—with multiple game drives, both on the private reserves and in Kruger National Park itself. The highlight of our trip was definitely the full day in Kruger Park—spotting the Big Five in their natural habitat was beyond incredible. The other days on the private grounds neighbouring Kruger were also fantastic, offering plenty of up-close wildlife sightings. Tremisana Lodge, while basic and a bit dated (and no WiFi), was still a great base for our adventure. Given the remote location, it had everything we needed and gave a very authentic bush experience. Huge thanks to our wonderful guides Smiley, Luke, and Victor—they were knowledgeable, passionate, and truly made the experience special. We felt safe, informed, and well taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend Viva Safaris if you're looking for an unforgettable, well-run safari adventure!

5.00One of the best and most unforgettable experiences of our lives! We booked a 4-day safari, and I must say it was perfect for an incredible safari adventure. We spent one full day in Kruger National Park and the remaining days exploring the areas around the hotel, which were equally spectacular. To our delight, we saw an astonishing number of animals right in the vicinity of the hotel. A special shoutout goes to our amazing guides – Lucky, Smiley, Victor, Luke, and Brandon. You guys made this experience not only educational but also incredibly fun, engaging, and truly unforgettable. Every guide we toured with was exceptionally professional and knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. They were so skilled at tracking animals that they managed to show us everything we could have dreamed of seeing! Beyond the safari itself, we had wonderful conversations with them and learned a lot about the country, along with receiving fantastic recommendations for the rest of our journey. The hotel staff were equally outstanding. We were especially charmed by the lovely woman who cooked hearty, home-style meals and made sure everyone was well-fed and happy. The food was delicious and comforting after long, adventurous days. We also had the pleasure of meeting other travelers who made the experience even more memorable. Sharing this incredible journey with like-minded people added another layer of joy to our trip.
