  This 7 day safari exceeding all expectations. From the in-depth knowledge of all the guides to the friendly staff in the accommodation. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure you had a memorable and enjoyable holiday. They have created the utmost family atmosphere and we felt privileged to be welcomed into their family during our 7 day stay. Everything is extremely well organised and each day of your holiday is completely different. The guides do their utmost to ensure you not only get the most of your holiday, but to ensure you see all the wildlife you want to see. We saw all the Big Five within the first 48 hours of our holiday. Thank you to everyone at Viva Safaris for making this the most memorable holiday we’ve ever had. • Magical amazing fabulous WOW experience

  Would highly recommend viva safari, my sister and I, had an amazing time. We stayed at the Tremisana Lodge. Beds where very comfortable and our room was cleaned everyday. Foods was great, home made by the lovely ladies. The drives and the bush walks were unforgettable. Marc, Luke, Victor, Smiley, Jan's, Sonny and Andy where all amazing guides. They really made sure we had a great experience. Tremisana lodge had a very warm family feeling would definitely return in the future. Recommend doing 7 days 6 night package.   I would highly recommend a Viva Safari to anyone that wants to visit Kruger National Park. And I would definitely recommend the Tremisana Lodge for accommodations. The staff was very attentive going above and beyond to make sure that my needs were met.The room was comfortable, and I even got to wake up to elephants right outside of my door on several occasions. Momma Dee made sure that we all had a good home cooked meal before we left to go out each day. My guides, Smiley, Marc and Luke were attentive, knowledgeable and acc. They went out of there way to make sure I had a great experience. And a special thanks to Luke for helping me get settled after I arrived. • Too long and repeatative.

  The room was very dated. There was no kettle provided, and the air conditioning was extremely noisy. The hotel also removed all tea, coffee, and hot water service from the bar, claiming it was an effort to prevent monkeys from breaking the items. Furthermore, the food lacked variety. Regarding the safari lodge, their drives only utilized main roads. While we saw elephants and zebras, we were unable to see any big cats because the guides are not authorized to leave the main road or drive onto the private land where those animals typically are.

Everyone at the Tremisana Safari lodge, including the manager, were exceptionally good. We had a memorable time there and felt sad to leave. • Memories for a lifetime

  We loved our safari with notable memories made with our favorite guides, Luke, Victor, and Mark. Each had fun and engaging personalities and made a genuine effort to enrich our experience, educating us about the animals and the environment. They really tried to show us as much as they could. The only reason we did not give five stars was because the quality/variety of the food was very average. It would be fine for a 3-4 day safari but for our 7 day safari it got a bit repetitive and we missed more fruit and vegetable options. The rooms were in good condition given being in the bush, and had solid amenities. Hotel and kitchen staff were always responsive and helpful. It was a joy to see animals visit the watering hole at the lodge. Overall, this company strikes a good balance between price point and experience.   7 Day Viva Safari - June 2025 5/5 I do not normally provide reviews but on this occasion decided to provide potential Viva Safari visitors with an insight as to our experiences. I booked the safari directly with Viva Safaris rather than going through a tour operator. From my first emails, Patricia Landau was exceptionally prompt and helpful in her responses. I asked many questions and was provided with all the information I needed. We selected the 7 day safari based at the Tremisana Lodge. We were picked up promptly at our Johannesburg airport hotel and driven to Kruger in time for our first sunset drive. Amazingly we saw 3 of the big 5 on that first drive. Once back at the lodge we checked into our accommodation which is rustic and comfortable. During our week we were driven by numerous of the Viva team. All were very informative about the animals and were keen to enable us to see as many different species as possible. We found Andy and Marc to be extremely enthusiastic, every day seemed an adventure for them too. The schedules are packed each day. Having been on a safari previously we were delighted with the amount of time out in jeeps on this Viva safari. We must have averaged over 7 hours per day actually tracking animals. We managed to see all the big 5, with the highlights being 8 lions walking beside the jeep literally 5 minutes from the lodge, a cheetah walking beside the jeep in Kruger, 3 hyena cubs lazing by the road in Kruger and 14 giraffes walking beside the road totally ignoring us, a boa constrictor sunbathing in a tree and 2 male wildebeest fighting for territory and breeding rights. With regard to the lodge itself, the team worked hard to ensure we were well fed, the food was good, plentiful and filling and the chefs added their own cakes, cookies and desserts. Each mealtime the visitors met at the Lapa restaurant to discuss their sightings, share experiences and add to the enjoyment. Just outside the perimeter of the Lapa (literally 20 metres from our seats) we had daily visits from hyenas, a family of 5 warthogs, honey badgers, elephants, guinea fowl and numerous other birds. At Tremisana we met many fun loving people from all over Europe, Asia and America which all added to the experience. What a fantastic holiday. It was definitely a 5 out of 5 experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend their safari holiday actually viewing animals rather than sitting beside a pool.

  

  

  

• Wonderful Experience

  My adult daughter and I recently completed the 7 day safari with Viva. We had a great experience. One should note that it's a 6-7 hour drive from Johannesburg to the lodge. There are two rest stops and a lunch stop. Our room was basic but did the job. Do note that there is limited storage space. There is an in room safe and the A/C works well. There are coffee making facilities in the room. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. The food is basic and good. The lodge personnel were very helpful. We had two days in Kruger Park which is about 1 1/2 hours from the lodge. The days in the lodge consisted of an early morning drive and a sunset drive. We did a half day visit to an animal rescue facility that was interesting. We also did a morning bush walk. I can't say enough good things about our guides Rocky, Victor and especially Luke. I am 81 and handled everything with no difficulty though I'm in pretty good shape. I thought that the safari was an exceptional value. Also we made a lot of friends along the way. A very laid back experience. I would highly recommend!

  Such an incredible experience at an extremely reasonable price point. I went with my Dad and from the moment we showed up we were taken care of. Everyday was exceptionally organised and told to us the night before. The rooms are quite large and the beds are very comfy. The surrounds of the lodge are beautiful, well kept gardens and pathways and a lovely clean pool. It was a very personal touch at Tremisana, all the staff got to know us over the week and each night the guides join you for dinner which both me and my Dad loved. You get lots of different guides and they are all so passionate and knowledgeable of the park. Be mindful it gets cold in an open top vehicle, bring layers particularly on the morning drives. We had Smiley quite a lot and he worked so hard for us to see the big 5. As we were leaving we had only seen 4 (lion, leopard, elephant and rhino) but on the drive back to Johannesburg we finally saw the buffalo! Completing the big 5. We were fed very well and the kitchen staff are just as kind as the rest of tremisana. The bush BBQ was a very cool experience, hyenas even came to say hello. But the best experience was definitely the bush walk, to get out of the car and walk amongst the bush is such a special, unique experience. You feel vulnerable without the car but we felt safe the whole time with the expertise of Luke. • More than expected

  I'm not sure if my experiences are similar to others or if I was just lucky enough to have a number of rare experiences. If I had written down what I expected from this safari I would probably have been embarrassed for having expected so much. In reality, my real life experiences with Viva Safari surpassed those expectations. Some of those included observing a white lion cub with mom and siblings for 45 minutes, watching male impala but heads to determine dominance, watching for 2 hours as two lionesses hunted a herd of zebra, and seeing the rare bushbuck. Staff was very friendly, very very knowledgeable, and really cared about providing a quality experience every time they were with guests at the lodge.
