Having shared the story of Come From Away with almost a million people, and being partnered in life with born and raised Newfoundlander, Deneen, my passion for this, my chosen home, is what drives my desire to take you on this tour. My perspective on this land and her people and the connections I’ve made as a member of the Come From Away family make for a one of a kind experience for my guests. Come From Away…for awhile:)

All tours are hosted and guided by me, Deneen, our friend, Newwfoundland music legend Larry Foley, or, schedule allowing, combinations thereof! All 3 of us are connected to Come From Away and excited to welcome you inside the story:)

PLEASE NOTE: THIS TOUR TAKES PLACE IN ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND, NOT SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK. Please check your itinerary. I’d hate for you to end up 1300 miles from me!

AND...our September 7 outing will be a bit larger, with 15-20 guests rather than 6. This is to accommodate overwhelming demand from Azamara.

What To Expect

Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site

***Please note that all times given are approximate. I won't rush you:) For a moment, you’ll be the easternmost person in North America. We’ll experience the power of the wild North Atlantic crashing against the rocks, the historical points of interest including the massive cannons installed to defend North America in WW2, and, weather permitting, ascend to the lighthouse, with the most spectacular views anywhere.

Picked us up right on time. Visited Petty Harbor, Cape Spear, fish & chips lunch and Signal Hill. Modified our route to see an iceberg! Thank you George!

Several interesting sights. We saw whales below Signal Hill. The little fishing village was quaint. Nice lunch and nice walk around the lighthouse and military placement manned during WWII.

George was away but Deneen took very good care of us and the Honda mini van was super comfortable. Deneen was delightful and taught me the names of some plants and how they could be used for food and materials. The fish and chips were excellent, and Deneen dropped me off at a grocery store at my request at the end. Bring some cash so you can give your guide a proper tip at the end!
