A fully-packed but yet truly relaxing cruise on the Nile River

5.00Very pleased to have signed up for the tour that covered all the major must-do activities plus the hot air balloon ride in Luxor and the trip to Abu Simbel. If you are not pushed for time, this is the preferred direction compared with the opposite direction that is one night short and hence more rushed. We even had a bit of free time to join visit the Nubian village and had a swim in the beach when the ship anchored in Aswan on the last evening. Excellent communication regarding the excursion arrangement every day from the tour manager throughout using Whatsapp and personalised messages left on the reception desk of the cruise ship. The ship we were allocated was great and the staff onboard were all very attentive and friendly. The tour also included both airport transfers at the start and the end of the cruise.

5.00Mahmoud Amin was outstanding as he led us through various Temples. He also helped to arrange rises when need and her just was incredibly helpful. He’s full of knowledge and made it fun for us. Highly recommended.

5.00Mahmoud our tour guide in Luxor and Abu Simbel is very knowledgeable. We appreciated the place of visits because of his ancient history telling skills. Same with other Egyptologist on this tour Mohamed (Edfu) and Wael (Kom Ombo and Aswan). Mustafa our driver in Luxor was very accommodating from airport pickup and touring us around Luxor. Hot air balloon was once in lifetime experience, we enjoyed it. Cruise was awesome, great rooms with balconies, delicious food and very courteous staff. Overall a great 5 days / 4 nights experience cruising the Nile.
Don't book 4 nights 5 days - there is no activity planned

3.00Definitely don't book the 4 night 5 day experience! The 5th day they had nothing planned for us even though they told us to book our flight for after 3pm, begged them to fulfill the itinerary on the last day so got given a speed tour of the dam & philae temple, but ended up wasting the whole day when we could have left much earlier and saved money - very scammy!! Boat looked nothing like the photos, but the staff on the boat were all super friendly and helpful - really nice bunch, comfy enough room. Tour guides were for the most part knowledgeable and friendly - our guide Mostafa in Edfu, our guide in Komombo and Mostafa in Luxor were really nice - the abu simbel trip was 8 hours round trip with 1 hour visit and the guide wasn't good so wouldnt recommend that unless you went to abu simbel a different way! Would recommend the nile cruise experience and some of our guides (the ones mentioned) but would advise booking with a different company that don't false sell you a 5th day itinerary that doesn't exist!

3.00As my first experience booking a nile cruise, generally I'd say this particular cruise, the boat called Royal La Terrace, was a little below average. The guides were amazingly knedgeable, on time and truly dedicated to a wonderful experience. The boat on the other hand had its downfalls which included no water for free and charging tripple the cost for water or soft drinks outside. Also coffee and tea only free at breakfast and tea time but no access to them without cost throughout the day. Also the schedule was super strict meaning an hour typically alloted per meal and upset if we were not on time. The workers tried their best to do what they could but it appears its management that is the issue. There was no music on during the day and just overall a very basic boat. If i were to book again i would like to see a different level of service and a more comprehensive schedule before beginning the cruise as well as the name of the boat which was not given to us prior.
