Actually, Sri Lankan moonstones are those of highest value due to their dark blue reflections, although Mogok in Myanmar (Birma) has been the world‘s best primary source of highly esteemed blue-shining moonstones. Finds of valuable moonstones have become rarer in recent decades. On average, 50 to 100 rough moonstones of diverse qualities are mined per day in Meetiyagoda, which are sourced from deposits at depths of about 10 to 40 metres. Some decades ago, they could be found close to the surface.

    - Review from Tripadvisor

Here is a shorter, professional review that keeps all your key memories and experiences: "We had an unforgettable trip to Sri Lanka and enjoyed every moment of our journey. We visited Sigiriya, Dambulla, the village tour, Spice Garden, Kandy Temple, Ella, Yala, and Mirissa, and every destination had something special to offer. The village safari and Minneriya Safari were amazing experiences, especially seeing elephants so closely. The train journey to Ella was beautiful, and visiting Nine Arch Bridge was truly memorable. We also enjoyed ziplining, Ravana Waterfall, local temples, and spending relaxing time in Ella. One of the highlights was Yala Safari, where we saw many different animals and even had an incredible close encounter with a leopard. The dolphin safari in Mirissa was also exceptional, with large groups of dolphins creating unforgettable memories. Sri Lankan food was another highlight of our trip. We enjoyed local dishes in many places, especially different styles of curry, kottu roti, and traditional local flavors. A special thank you to our driver, Nadeeka, who made this trip even better. He was always flexible, helpful, punctual, and supported every request we had throughout the journey. Overall, Sri Lanka gave us beautiful memories that we will never forget. Highly recommended!"
