We had a great time with our tour guide (sorry I forgot her name, her mother Cindy is the owner of the farm). She was real knowledgeable and we tasted all kinds of eatable seaweed (forgot all the names) during our walk by the water. Real interesting about farming abalones. The lunch was a real culinary experience on its own. Well worth the price and the overall experience was amazing.

What an incredible and memorable experience we had foraging on the coast and exploring the only abalone farm in Ireland. We are grateful to have learned so much from passionate experts. Imagine our surprise having a seaweed forward meal, fresh from the sea, prepared by a Marine Biologist! Thank you for hosting us ♥️

We learnt so much about the different types of seaweed you can find on the shoreline. We loved the Seaweed and Abolone tasting and the story of how the farm started up.

  • Beautiful tastings and left with newfound knowledge.

Looks like a mini eco tour learning not just about the various types of seaweed in the day but also about the edible plants surrounding the bay that could be used to eat. The tour also included the lifecycle and how abalone grow and I didn't know that it took 4 to 5 years just to go an abalone 3.5 inches in length. The food execution and presentation of the seaweed and abalone was beautiful and delicious. The host/guide had a wealth of information and knowledge. You could tell she and her mom cared about the environment and respected the food sourcing. I enjoyed this very much!
