Our small unique operation in Port Douglas is the most personal day boat visiting the outer reef taking a maximum of just 12 passengers on board per trip, ensuring you’ll enjoy a very exclusive day. Our trip can take us to several outer reef locations where our very special Great Barrier Reef marine park permit allows us to roam the reefs freely and be away from other tourists and crowded reef locations. Because we have the ability to be able to roam all the reefs off Port Douglas it means we can frequently change our snorkel locations. Ensuring the wildlife acts naturally and does not begin shying from busy reef spots, so the surprise “big ticket” sightings are frequent and amazing! Our team are in the water with you. 5.00This is the tour you want. With a limit of only 12 passengers and manned with a crew of 4, you get personalized guidance and assistance you can’t possibly get with other tour operators who use larger boats that carry many more passengers. ABC provides all the equipment you need. We are inexperienced snorkelers, and another couple had no experience. Our concerns were quickly overcome as they divided us into two small groups for snorkeling and one for the divers and then provided personalized guidance to get us ready. This is a smaller craft that is able to go rapidly to the very best spots on the reef - places that larger boats are not allowed to go. Once in the water, our swim leader was Zoe and she watched us closely as we snorkeled and was constantly checking with us to ensure we were ok. As soon as we got to the reef, we saw more types of corral and tropical fish than one could count. It FAR exceeded our best expectations. Even the lunch provided while traveling between our reef locations was excellent. If you truly want to see all the wonders that the Great Barrier Reef has to offer, this is the tour company that can make it happen – you won’t be disappointed. This is an experience you will always remember!

5.00We had an epic day — the reef was absolutely stunning and full of life and this was such a perfect way to see it. We got lucky with great weather, a small group of only 5 passengers, a smooth boat ride from Jeff, and brilliant and infectious energy from guides Will and Zoe. We felt completely at ease and taken care of the whole time and were impressed with how the crew curated a truly unforgettable day. Zoe choose a reef known for turtles which are typically hard to come by on these trips but we managed to see three!! Will also spotted us a reef shark, puffer fish, huge grouper, eagle manta ray, clown fish, giant clams, and so much more! I would recommend this trip for anyone looking for a more intimate small group experience that feels very well put together while also being relaxed and friendly. 10/10 experience we will remember forever!

5.00If you are in any doubt about booking this small group tour just read the reviews! We have just returned from a fantastic trip. The small group of just 12 paying guests were looked after so well by three marine biologists. I was anxious as had never snorkelled before but I needn’t have been nervous as Will looked after me throughout. We saw thousands of different fish, two turtles and my husband saw a black tip reef shark. It was a beautiful sunny day and very calm water. We have taken away memories which will last forever. Thank you to the three marine biologists and Jason the Captain.

5.00Besides snorkeling, they also offer diving in really small groups. Incredibly good! If you see the mass tourism on the other boats (sometimes over 300 divers and snorkelers) you know that the slightly higher price is absolutely worth its money. Maximum 12 people on board with 3 guides.

5.00Fantastic personalized experience. Crew was knowledgeable and well organized. Four of us snorkeled and the other eight did scuba. Equipment was excellent. Several marine biologists on board took the time to orient us before snorkeling. Our snorkel guide, Manon, was fantastic in the water, making sure we saw reef features that we surely would have missed if we were on our own and made sure that we were safe nd well looked after. The small boat could ge to undisturbed places on the reef that the larger boats couldn’t go. If you can swing it, the higher cost of this small group trip over the large boats is definitely worth it!

5.00The reef experience was magical, we were able to go to quiet areas that felt like there was no one else around which was great. The crew made us feel safe and comfortable and helped my mum when she was struggling to ensure she’d still be able to experience the reef. We’d highly recommend using ABC and the small group trips they run!
