Small van was a better option than a big bus. Also driver was willing to stop whenever we saw wildlife.

Lauren is a fantastic guide (and person) and we were fortunate to book this excellent tour. So different seeing this island with a local who is full of knowledge and empathy.

Lauren was an amazing guide we enjoyed our visit so much. Took us to so many out of the way beautiful places. She was very knowledgeable about everything in the area.

Great tour, guide tried several ways for us to view a bear, while we just missed mom and her cubs, the effort was appreciated. Tour included starfish at the beach stop, a snack, a little history of the area, and both the totem pole park and salmon ladder were incredible. Enjoyed learning a bit about each stop as we were enroute.

The description of the tour leaves the wrong impression about what we will do during the tour. We thought we were going to walk to see the bears in some landscape but the van took us on a couple of streets looking for the animals and then stopped in a stream and we stayed there a few minutes waiting for the animals that did not come. The guide was super kind but the tour is not worth what it promises. We know that animals aren't always seen but getting around the car looking was disappointing.

Very fun and truly a breath taking experience! Lauren was an amazing guide and she was so knowledgeable about the area. We went to the Salmon Hatchery and Herron Cove, and saw a lot of interesting birds and seagulls. We went down to the rock shores and watched several seals swimming a few yards from us. We had a great time at the Totem Pole park where 3 tribes would convene, and we also went hiking by the waterfalls. We were literally next to the water as it was dashing down from the mountain! We didnt see any bears because it is almost hibernation time, but we had a really great time over all! Lauren showed us where the salmons would spend their final days...and where to catch them. We definitely recommend this adventure tour to any one coming to Alaska or Ketchikan!

We met our tour guide Lauren downtown next to the visitors center which was very easy to locate. She found everyone that was joining us, we climbed into the van and started with the salmon ladder. We watched salmon jump up the creek while she gave us some fun facts, I had no idea there were 5 types of salmon. My group was most excited to see bears at herring cove. Prior to booking the trip, we understood that bears are wild, and there is only a chance to see them... BUT we were very lucky and saw 2 bears. Lauren was very attentive and answered any questions we had. The tour lasted around 2 hours from start tot finish and was well worth it. We shared the van with other small groups and got to mingle and meet people from all around the world which was also fun while we drove around. I appreciate Lauren so much for making one of our travel dreams a reality.... seeing bears catch salmon in Alaska!

Most of this tour could be done on your own. Although not spotting bears was not the guide’s fault, there were other areas that fell short of expectations. Guide was friendly and did try to get us to see a spotted whale at the beach.
