Wow did I learn a lot! Axel was Amazing. NYC solo traveller, so I knew we would be walking and I loved it. We saw so much of the city and it didn't feel rushed by any means. Small group, which was really nice. All of my questions were answered and I had many. You can tell Axel really loves just chatting with people and telling stories. Highly Recommend!

As a family with older teens, we enjoyed this tour. As the first thing we did on arrival in Amsterdam it gave us our bearings geographically and historically. Axel was an excellent guide, friendly, fun and informative. Highly recommend. We like the vibe of these guys.

We had an absolutely fabulous experience with Hit The Bricks and cannot recommend them highly enough. We ended up doing three tours – History, Ghastly Gretchen, and Happy Hour History (the pub tour) – and every single one was outstanding. Our guide, Axel, was brilliant: incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely entertaining. Each tour was packed with fascinating historical detail, fun and quirky facts, and delivered with a fantastic sense of humour that kept everyone interested from start to finish. The stories were brought to life in a way that was informative without ever feeling dry. The variety across the tours was excellent – from rich history to darker tales and then a relaxed, social pub crawl with historical context woven in perfectly. Axel’s storytelling and energy made each tour feel fresh and memorable. If you want a tour that’s educational, fun, and full of personality, Hit The Bricks is a must-do. One of the highlights of our trip! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Honestly this was the best walking tour of Amsterdam. Only 5 of us and the tour guide David was animated, incredibly funny and bursting with interesting facts. It was well balanced with an overview of Dutch history. My teenage daughters loved it- which is the highest compliment!

Interesting tour that included a lot of history. Knowledgeable guide who was responsive to questions and provided lots of interesting details. (And just FYI, there is a bathroom at the meeting place.)

This is a GREAT activity especially for newbies (like me) visiting the city for the first time. Axel was a great tour guide who gave an informative and engaging overview of Amsterdam's history and culture today - lots of fun facts I'll be annoying people with back home - while stopping at various iconic landmarks and places I probably would've missed or not known the full story of on my own. Can't recommend the Hit the Bricks/Dam Boat Guys people enough! (Also say hi to the cutest cat Koko if you get to their office/meeting point early. 😄)
