Anchorage
Luxury without limits: follow our hand-selected route or craft a day wholly unique to your vision. Every stop, every pause, and every view unfolds on your terms, creating an experience as individual as you are. Anchorage began in 1914 as a humble railroad construction camp and has since grown into Alaska’s largest and most dynamic city. Nestled between the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet, downtown is filled with historic buildings, vibrant murals, and striking vistas that capture the essence of Alaska’s wild beauty. We can experience the city in multiple ways: we can drive through downtown, taking in the rich history, architectural highlights, and public art that tell Anchorage’s story, or we can stop and visit unique Alaskan specialty shops. From handcrafted souvenirs to authentic local delicacies, the city offers endless opportunities to discover the culture and character of Alaska in an intimate, personalized way.
The Ulu Factory
Step into the world of Alaska’s iconic ulu knife, a tool that has been central to Indigenous life for over a thousand years. The Ulu Factory offers a rare opportunity to explore this rich history—from ancient ulus dating as far back as 1000 BC to more recent designs—providing a window into centuries of craftsmanship and culture. Guests can observe master artisans as they craft ulus by hand, seeing the traditional techniques passed down through generations. You’ll also learn how to handle and use an ulu, gaining hands-on insight into its versatility, from food preparation to daily tasks. The experience blends history, skill, and culture, creating a meaningful connection to Alaska’s Indigenous heritage.

My wife & I took a tour from Anchorage to Seward,Alaska.Cortney was very pleasant & knowlegable about the area & the animals. We saw eagles in their nest,Dall sheep on the mountain side, & visited the animal conservation area where we saw several moose, black & brown bears among other animals. The cost of the tour was very reasonable & would recommend the tour to others. Our tour had a total of 4 people. Cortney, the owner, took us directly to the Viking ship in Seward. We received a personal tour.

The tour was wonderful, Courtney is a fantastic guide and very knowledgeable about the history and nature of Alaska. My family group of 3 adults and 5 children, ages 6-11, had a great time and learned many facts that can only be taught by an Alaskan native such as Courtney.

Our half day excursion wit Epic Tours was truly epic. Instead of using the cruise line’s transfer from the Seward cruise terminal to the Anchorage airport, we chose to see more of Alaska with our own transfer. After studying the options, we decided upon Epic to provide the best experience. And we were not disappointed for it exceeded all our expectations. Our tour guide, Cortney, was incredibly knowledgeable, knowing everything about Alaska: its history, landscape, and animals.

Where do I even start... Whether you're a local or looking to experience your dream trip in Alaska, Epic Alaska is your company! Cortney is everything you want in a local guide, and she'll show you what you need to see in Alaska. A great personality/conversationalist, extremely accommodating with a luxurious van with all the amenities, and a great planner! Full of fun facts and recommendations with an authentic experience you can't compare. The beauty of a private tour is that you can see everything you want to see with so much more you didn't even know existed. As a local who arranged this private tour with Cortney for my family visiting town, I learned so much about Anchorage and its surrounding towns while also learning more about the culture in Alaska, from what typically draws people in/out and the history of the state. There's something quite special and priceless in supporting a local business who genuinely enjoys sharing the state's rich culture with those who want to make the most of their time with a top-class experience. Thank you for being one of the main highlights of the family trip, Cortney! It was truly unforgettable, and I thank you for giving me a new way to love Alaska!
