This tour not only showcases the typical wildlife of the rainforest, but it does so from a unique location: Gatun Lake, part of the Panama Canal. What To Expect
Gatun Lake
The Monkey Island tour starts early in the morning, usually between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., with direct pickup from your hotel in Panama City.

Accompanied by a local guide or agricultural expert, you'll begin a tour through the market aisles, where the air is filled with the sweet, fresh aroma of recently harvested tropical fruits. Among piles of papayas, mangoes, bananas, and passion fruit, the star of the day will be the Panamanian pineapple, internationally renowned for its intensely sweet flavor, juicy texture, and floral aroma. The most anticipated part comes with the tasting: fresh pineapple slices served directly by the producers or vendors, at room temperature or slightly chilled, highlighting the quality of this national fruit.

5.00I saw this excursion on TikTok and booked, best decision ever. Our tour guide Jenny was very professional/knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Panamanian culture and history. If you have kids they will love this activity. And I personally enjoyed visiting the fruit market as it reminded me of home. Thank you to Jenny and her team for an incredible experience .

1.00If you are on a cruise make sure Viator picks you up at the port! You shouldn't have to figure out what hotel is located near the port and find a ride to hotel to then be picked by Viator. Then be really worried when the driver text you they will be 30 minutes late picking you up. Whose to say this excursion will get you back on time....we didn't and we canceled. Viator you should know this so why would you send this email out. We should have received an email saying we were refunded because of the concern regarding a 30 minute delay for a five hour excursion.

2.00Read carefully what’s included, because upon arrival you have to pay an extra $30 for the boat ride. It also says they take you to the fruit market for appetizers, but it was one plate of pineapple slices for everyone to share. The tour size is large. I paid a total of $80 per person for my group of five, and there were about 18 other people on the tour. They said they don’t feed the monkeys, that it is prohibited, they mean YOU, because the tour staff does. I packed a banana to feed them and was not allowed to, while they were feeding them in front of you. There are 5 or 6 other boats trying to see the monkeys at all times.

5.00Great experience. Jenny was our tour guide very knowledgeable about the rain forest and Panama. She was bilingual which was very helpful. She was also sweet offered water during the bus ride and gave great instructions before we seen the monkeys.

5.00We enjoyed our tour and was able to see all the monkeys, iguanas, bats, and 1 small gator. The fresh pineapple was amazing. I was able to purchase extra fruit. The bathrooms cost 25 cents at the fruit market so have change. I do wish we had a little more time at the fruit market though. Overall, we would recommend.

5.00We got to see all 3 types of monkeys and an iguana swimming! Juli the Monkey Whisperer was an unexpected pleasure. Just a very fun trip. Jeny is an upbeat and informative guide. If you do text rip- you must go with Jeny, Brian, and Juli! A+ :-)
