At Aquila Game Reserve, you can expect an exciting day filled with wildlife sightings, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard as well as various other animals like giraffes, zebras and antelopes). You'll go on safari drives led by experienced guides, off-the-beaten-path-routes, luxurious accommodations amidst breathtaking landscapes while creating unforgettable experiences and enjoy delicious meals.
An optional, complementary educational tour on their lion rehabilitation program and the Reserve's sustainable food program.
Full day, overnight and private tours can be arranged beforehand (additional costs may apply & subject to availability)

Great guide for super safari experience!

5.00Our guide, Leisle (I hope I spelled it correctly!), was outstanding. She was kind and helpful answering questions as we made the drive. We could have rented a car but the experience wouldn’t have been nearly as good. She walked us in, helped us get our bearings, gave great advice about the tour, and even offered to be our personal photographer. We had some issues due to our last minute trip but she helped figure it out.

5.00My time was absolutely amazing! Ian by far was the best host that I have had in a long time to do a tour. We even had an exclusive experience with lionesses and getting to see how the chefs cultivate the farm to table experience. Ian was extremely informative about the area, South Africa culture and food. I would encourage anyone if you want a professional, phenomenal, and personable experience…… this tour and team is the ONE you want. Money well spent and definitely a major highlight of my trip!!!!

5.00My friends and I had an amazing time at Aquila Safari. We were promptly picked up by Juan and safely driven to the safari grounds. Veno was our driver for the safari and was 10/10 experience. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend experiencing this !

5.00Was such a lovely day traveling from Cape Town out to the Aguila animal reserve. My guide, Ian, was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Had such a wonderful day with him! He went out of his way to share his love of this beautiful country with the participants. Definitely look forward to returning someday and exploring more of South Africa with him! I don’t know why, but I thought that there would be a large group of us? But it was just myself and another solo traveler. I feel very lucky to have received such personalized attention! The reserve itself is gorgeous and the staff there were very knowledgeable about the animals and their care. The time spent at the reserve was really lovely. The lunch buffet was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this tour.

5.00This was a great option to see Aquila! Very good communication and accommodation to my schedule! I had to go to the airport after the game reserve and they gladly coordinated this to best serve my schedule which was much appreciated otherwise I would not have been able to fit this great attraction into my schedule!

5.00I recently booked a full-day trip with Explore Africa Tours from Cape Town to the Aquila Game Safari in Touwsrivier, and it was a great experience! Upon arrival, I had the buffet breakfast, which set the tone for a fantastic day. During the safari, I was thrilled to see a variety of wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, impalas, giraffes, buffalo, and antelope—truly a dream come true for any nature lover. After the safari, a hearty lunch was served, with all meals conveniently included in the package. I also treated myself to a relaxing massage at the Aquila reserve, which I booked separately—it was the perfect way to unwind afterwards before heading back. The service was great from my last minute booking to drop off. My driver was punctual, courteous, and entertaining throughout the two-hour road trip to Aquila. He offered to snap pictures without prompts. On the way back, I appreciated the reclining seats, allowing me to nap comfortably while he ensured my safe return to my hotel. I can’t recommend Explore Africa Tours enough! I will definitely use them for my next adventure.
