We had a great Fjord Photography tour with Northern Shots. We went to 5 scenic locations on the way to Sommeroy which is stunning. Our guide was Michaelagelo (may not have spelt this right). He was a very friendly Italian who did a great job of looking after us all. He was full of information and facts about the area and wildlife. Importantly his driving was very safe. We had fish soup at a hotel. I’d recommend a walk out afterwards for some of the best views of the Island.
Recommended in general, bad luck with the weather that night

Our guide did his best but it was a very overcast night, so we weren't lucky with the northern lights. But the company has a great policy in that case, and I got a big bus tour for free on another day (will of course depend on availability). In general I'm a bit split minds about small vs. big group tours. Of course you're more flexible to stop with a van than a bus. On the downside the driver is the guide, so on tricky days it's not easy to keep in touch with other guides about promising spots.

the whole experience was very good, the bus comfortable, the explanations clear, interesting and concrete; we had an incredible night with such a starry sky and spectacular auroras, plus a delicious hot chocolate and cookies; all the staff, the driver, the guide , the helpers make an amazing experience, very very highly recommended

Thomas did a great job - patient, resourceful, cheerful. We got a taster view early on, then he took us to a beach location, built a campfire, made hot chocolate for us and took lots of photos in his SLR. Really appreciated his effort in taking us to a quiet place not overrunning with tourists and making sure we had a good view.

It was a fantastic experience – we saw a beautiful display of the Northern Lights, warmed up by the campfire with food and hot chocolate, and enjoyed a great atmosphere within the group. Tommy was an excellent guide, he really took care of us and also captured some stunning photos. We can highly recommend both this tour and the guide.

My daughter and I went with open minds as to what we would actually see on this tour, but WOW we were blown away! Our guide Thomas was so knowledgable, and carefully tracked where the sky would be clearest to get the best view. He also used an app to see when the aurora would potentially peak, which was spot on. The whole evening was magical. We had hot chocolates by a small camp fire and the location was so rural and peaceful - it was stunning. I would highly recommend both NorthernShots and Thomas as your guide. Everything was perfectly executed, and the details that he shared with us about the aurora were invaluable. The most incredible and memorable experience.
Once in a lifetime bucket list fulfilled!

Peter our guide was amazing. What started out as a dreary rainy and snowy night turned into a magical one as we were able to see green and white auroras. Kudos to Peter for never giving up! He knew all the spots to try despite the bleak conditions. Totally worth it and I recommend this company because they have a guarantee to try again if you don’t see it the first time. My wife’s bucket list has been filled!
