It was AMAZING! We started with a storied past of how all the ingredients came together, and then we had very detailed instruction on making our own pesto. It tasted great, the conversation was awesome, and the glass of wine and focaccia (both locally made) were incredible. We would definitely go back!!!!

This was a great experience for our family of five. Our three boys (ages 15, 13 and 10) loved learning how to make the pesto and it wasn’t too complicated for them. The teacher was welcoming and friendly.

  • So You Think You Know Your Pesto?

The Cinque Terre is renowned not only for its wine production but also Pesto. The kitchen is situated beside the winery at the top of the Main Street beyond the beautiful church. It is furnished very traditionally including herbs & spices, local excellent Cinque Terre wine as well as the traditional pestle & mortar, essential tools in producing pesto. I must admit that initially I was rather apprehensive with my limited culinary skills but Yvonne was an excellent tutor guiding the group of aspiring pesto makers through the process adding helpful hints and advice. I have to admit that my wife’s pesto tasted so much better than mine. For the genuine Ligurian pesto I would definitely recommend this course

We did the most amazing pesto class in Manorola with Yvonne of @apiedecampu.experience. She was very knowledgeable, professional and fun, completely worth history and a slide show, and was encouraging during the pesto prep. The wine was also the perfect accompaniment. I highly recommend this class - and now I want to do the wine tour and tasting too!

  • Delightful

Set out by train for the short ten minutes journey from La Spezia to Manarola. Strolled up the hill from the train station for about fifteen minutes. Just before reaching the car park there is a pathway down a slight hill to the left - take that and you will arrive at A Pie De Campu. Yvonne was lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable - we learned a lot about making pesto and the importance of using good quality ingredients in the right proportions. We sampled our own hand made pesto with fresh focaccia - absolutely delicious and lovely wine from the region. Thanks for such a wonderful experience. A must for cooking enthusiasts.
