Chef Maria is a top-level professional! She not only showed us all the nuances of preparing authentic black paella but also shared secrets that distinguish home cooking from restaurant cuisine. Maria patiently answered all our questions and helped everyone along the way. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I've made paella at home a few times but always wanted to learn how to do the black version with seafood. So glad I took this class! The chef was a true professional—knew her stuff inside out. Got so many great tips that I never would have figured out on my own. The whole process made perfect sense once she explained it. End result? A massive pan of black seafood paella loaded with mussels and prawns that tasted incredible. Way better than my attempts at home! Beautiful space, fun afternoon, and actually learned something useful. Highly recommend.

So glad I booked this! Started with cava and amazing Spanish ham and cheeses. Then we made sangria with fresh fruit and local wine (and drank it while cooking). The black paella we made was incredible—honestly better than any I had at restaurants here. Beautiful space, super clean, and our chef was lovely. Such a fun morning. Worth every penny. Highly recommend!

I've eaten paella at several restaurants in Barcelona, but none of them compare to the one we made in this class. Seriously! From start to finish, this experience was perfect. The venue is gorgeous and spotless, and our chef instructor was an absolute gem—so welcoming, patient, and she explains everything clearly in perfect English. What I loved most was how hands-on it is. This isn't a demonstration where you just watch someone else cook. We were actually doing it: chopping, frying, stirring, making our own sangria, and carefully adding ingredients to the rice for our black paella. We even learned the technique for cooking this type of rice properly! We had so much wine throughout the afternoon, and the whole group bonded over the cooking. By the end, we sat down together to enjoy the feast we'd created. The flavor of that black seafood paella was incredible, way better than anything we ordered in restaurants. The best part? I actually feel confident I can make this at home now. If you're in Barcelona, do yourself a favor and book this class. It's worth every penny!

If you're debating whether to book this cooking class, stop hesitating and just do it. This was genuinely one of the best afternoons of our entire Barcelona trip. The moment we walked in, we were impressed by how beautiful and clean the space is. It has such a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our chef teacher welcomed us like old friends and made everyone feel comfortable right away. Her English is flawless, so we understood every step perfectly. The class is incredibly hands-on. We weren't just watching—we were fully involved. We started by making fresh sangria together (plenty of wine flowing!), and then got to work on the seafood paella with black ink. Standing around the pan, adding the rice, and learning how to get that perfect texture was so much fun. Here's the honest truth: the paella we made together was way better than any we tried at restaurants in Barcelona. It had so much more depth of flavor and tasted incredibly fresh. We left feeling like we actually learned something valuable—I genuinely think I can recreate this at home now. If you want a fun, delicious, and memorable experience in Barcelona, book this class. You'll leave full, happy, and with new skills. Couldn't recommend it more!

We booked this experience hoping for a fun afternoon, but it turned out to be so much more than that. First of all, the venue is stunning—really beautiful and incredibly clean, which we really appreciated. Our chef and teacher was so welcoming and made everyone feel at ease. Her English is perfect, so we didn't miss a single detail or tip. The class is very hands-on. We weren't just watching; we were chopping, stirring, and truly cooking. We made a huge jug of sangria together (plenty of wine to go around!) and then got to work on the star of the show: seafood paella with black ink. Honestly, the result was incredible. The paella we made was way better than any we had tried in restaurants around Barcelona. It tasted fresher and had so much more flavor. We left feeling confident that we can actually make this at home. If you want a genuine, fun, and delicious taste of Barcelona, book this class. You will not be disappointed!

I can’t recommend this experience enough! It was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. The location is absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean, which made for a very comfortable afternoon. Our teacher and chef was so welcoming and spoke perfect English, which made following along very easy. It was a very hands-on experience—we got stuck in right away, from making our own sangria to preparing a seafood paella with black ink. We were surprised by how much we learned; we genuinely feel like we can go home and recreate this dish ourselves! The best part? The paella we made was way better than any we tried in the restaurants around Barcelona. And of course, having a lot of wine to drink while we cooked was a huge bonus! If you are visiting Barcelona, book this now. You won’t regret it.

Couldn’t have asked for a better cooking experience. The market was an amazing upgrade. We learned so much about each ingredient. The cooking school was incredibly clean and architecturally stunning. We absolutely loved the appetizers and cava before we made our way to the stove. It was super inclusive how each job was divvied up. Everyone was able to participate. And what a meal. The paella was excellent, the wine was excellent and we even got a tasty dessert. Definitely book this class while you are in Barcelona. I can’t say enough good things about Maria and the Paella Barcelona cooking school. Five out of five stars.
