What To Expect

Temple of Heaven

Temple of Heaven is the largest and most representative existing masterpiece among China's ancient sacrificial buildings. The Temple of Heaven was originally constructed in the eighteenth year of Yong Le (1420), it including the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Hall of Imperial Zenity, the Circular Mound, the Imperial Vault of Heaven, Echo Wall, Triple-sound Stone, Seven Star Stone etc.

It’s a good idea to book your tickets in advance, particularly in peak season. Choose your preferred date and time slot for the visit and your tickets will be sent to your email. When you arrive at the Temple of Heaven, you’ll be able to enter without delay.

The tour was very good, Andy explained many things about life in ancient China and now. He told me several legends and stories of how the world was created and above all he told me about the temple that was what we came to observe.

The Temple of Heaven is an important cultural location in Beijing but it is the stories of Emperors who built and lived in it that bring it alive. My guide Andy was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the history of the Temple and the beautiful park that surrounds it.
An enjoyable trip to a special place tailored to the traveller short on time.

Mina was a great guide. Very experienced and knowledgeable. She advised me to arrive earlier than the stipulated tour start time so we could avoid the crowd. She also recommended me to a nice Peking Duck restaurant nearby where I had a wonderful lunch. Would highly recommend her.

All went well - received a confirmation of the reservation 5 days in advance and together with passport got inside the temple. The only downside is that there is explanation in the Chinese language so it impossible to really understand anything, except what was included in the tourist book guide (if you had 1). It should have been clearly stated that all inscriptions were only in Dnglish
