What To Expect

Our master barista covers the history, agriculture, production, and brewing of coffee in Colombia. You will have the opportunity to learn how to brew specialty coffee professionally, utilizing various preparation methods, including our state of the art espresso machine. Guests will have the opportunity to practice and master their own fresh cups of coffee hands on. You will be trained to be a coffee connoisseur as well as acquiring the ability, scent and palate to distinguish between gourmet coffee and others. Indulge your taste buds with AVOEDEN coffee, and learn why this gourmet specialty coffee has people around the world so enamored and intrigued. From bean to cup, guests will be exposed to the origins and the main characteristics that makes AVOEDEN coffee unique in the region.

As a coffee lover, I knew that visiting Colombia meant one thing for sure: I had to go on a coffee tour. Choosing Avoeden Coffee was easily one of the best decisions I made on this trip. From the moment the tour began, Lina, the owner and our guide, made the experience unforgettable. Her passion for coffee, her knowledge of every step of the process, and the pride she has in sharing her culture made the tour feel personal, educational, and truly special. One of my favorite moments was trying the coffee fruit straight from the plant. Tasting the sweetness and sucking the seed in its natural, fresh state before it is ever roasted was incredible. It was such a unique way to understand coffee at its source and honestly, it felt magical. Beyond the tasting and learning, the setting itself was beautiful and peaceful, creating the perfect environment to slow down and truly appreciate Colombia’s coffee traditions. Every detail felt thoughtful and meaningful. If you are visiting Medellín and want an authentic and memorable coffee experience led by someone who genuinely loves what she does, Avoeden is the place to go. I was more than pleased...well organized... extreme knowledge and for a novice that drinks alot of coffee... this workshop... will never make my coffee boring... I had no idea the process ..very well worth event ...

This trip was a highlight of Medellin! It was held in a beautiful outdoor patio setting and was a lovely experience. Our guide and translator, Daniela, was fantastic! The barista, Kathe, was a fabulous teacher, very knowledgeable. The driver, Gustavo, was so friendly and kind. We also had the opportunity to talk with the owners of Medellin Travels, Alex and Linda. What a fantastic couple, so welcoming and kind. We gained a tremendous appreciation for Colombian coffee and a deeper understanding of how great coffee is brewed. We also made own latte, with wonderful guidance from Kathe. This was charming and delightful experience. We highly recommend this tour.
