This is a 2.5-hour birdwatching boat tour aboard a solar-powered boat that provides a smooth and quiet ride throughout the route and preserves the natural heritage of Ria Formosa. With departures from Faro, you have the chance to learn more about the fauna and flora of this protected Algarve area.

You will visit the lagoon and marshes of Ria Formosa, watch numerous birds and all the nature and wildlife without disturbing it. Ria Formosa is a paradise for nature lovers, and as your guide is a trained and qualified biologist, they will help you understand and appreciate the enormous diversity in this beautiful area. Explore canals and marshes to watch birds such as the white stork, little egret, and spoonbill. We enjoy birdwatching, and this was top notch! Tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided information about the birds, habitats, and behaviors to help with identification and made a specific effort to find as many as possible--21 species the day of our trip. Also discussed the history and interesting trivia about the nature preserve and the local area.

Sebastian was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. I listed 26 different bird species that we saw. The boat was effortlessly guided around narrow channels and resting boats. Highly recommend.

Excellent, gentle cruise around Ria Formosa with a very friendly, knowledgeable guide who spoke super English and had a great sense of humour (Luis). It was high tide so didn't see waders, but the osprey, peregrine falcon and kingfisher among others made up for that and we could get the boat close to birds.

We took the solar boat which was very quiet and able to get into the marshes at a higher tide and saw a wide variety of birds, The guide was very knowledgeable and a truly nice guy.

Really good! Luis was very knowledgeable and engaging and the electric boat was able to glide noiselessly in to see the birds at close quarters . Good light and views and tranquil setting. Thoroughly recommended
