5.00This was a wonderful tour. Diana was a great guide with enthusiasm and knowledge of the areas visited. However, be prepared that the visit to Praia da Marinha and Benagil Cave is not your typical stroll along a beach and seaside cave. The views are beautiful and stunning but you'll be viewing the beach not at sea level, but rather from hundreds of feet above (100m or so), along cliffside views and access. There are opportunities to hike down to lower levels of the cliff outcrops to access different views. The roundtrip walking distance is about 2 km with medium grade, uneven and unlevel surfaces, and somewhat rocky terrain at times. So wear comfortable close-toed walking or trail shoes. The walk could pose a challenge for those who have some degree of arthritis in knees or hips, so be prepared. The weather was beautiful but be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat. While the air temperature can be quite comfortable, the direct sun can be intense. Carvoeiro is a very nice town, quite comfortable and relaxing. The tour concludes with a nice scenic walk on a boardwalk that follows the contours of the beach, leading to rocky coves.
