The bison highway wildlife tour is interesting. We saw two bisons along the way. The tour guide Livingson is very knowledgeable and told us stories about bison, and the history of Yellowknife. We learned a lot during this 4 hour tour.

Avoid this tour at all costs. It felt like a complete scam. We paid a significant amount of money only to spend nearly 400 km on the road, just to see absolutely nothing. The experience was incredibly disappointing. At the start of the tour, the guide mentioned that bison sightings weren’t guaranteed, but reassured us that in his 14 years of experience, he had only missed them twice. So imagine our shock when we became just the third group in all that time to see nothing. It felt misleading and left us feeling frustrated and let down.
