On Monday and Tuesday Peles and Pelisor Castles are closed all year round and can be seen from outside. From 3rd November to 2nd December Peles Castle is closed and during this period or on high demands days you can visit optional Pelisor Castle

The order of the itinerary depends on the season, weather, and opening hours. Unforseen events (weather, special events, traffic, etc) may result in a visit only on outside of one castle. Delays in arrival time to Bucharest may occur also due to these uncontrollable factors.

Peles Castle
Start your day trip with Peles Castle (inside visit), set in the scenic mountain resort of Sinaia, also called the Pearl of the Carpathians. Tour the Romanian royal family’s former summer residence, which showcases a magnificent palace in the German Renaissance style. Built at the foot of the mountains between 1873 and 1914 by Carol I, the first Romanian king, the palace is considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in Europe.

5.00Punctual departure at 7am. Danny was a very, very good guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly but professional. He asked people to return to the bus punctually and warned them they would have to sing if they were late back, which was a fun way to make 'most' people return punctually. Also made sure that there was no antagonism towards the guilty parties. :-) We went first to Bran castle, where we chose not to go in, then to Brasov which was a lovely old town, finally to Peles castle. Here we were running out of time as there had been traffic on the way from brasov to Peles. We had enough time to look around inside and a little time in the grounds. Maybe 30 mins more would have been good. We left there at 17.15 and were back around 19.15. So yes, it can be a bit rushed but it is a long way with often heavy traffic. All in all I think it was a very good tour.

1.00No one showed up. I reached out to Viator online and over the phone. No response. Another solo travel for the same trip was waiting at the same location. Both had no response or communication from Viator or contractor providing the tour.

5.00Nice trip with great guides! Danny was great! Be prepared for a long day though — about a two-hour drive each way, with shorter drives between stops (roughly 30 minutes and 1.5 hours). There isn’t a lot of time at each site, which is understandable given how much ground is covered, but worth noting. The guides did their best to be flexible, working with other guides on site to adjust the schedule when unexpected events arose (for example, an unexpected state visit that would have caused a significant delay). Tickets to the castles are NOT included in the tour price, though you can pay in cash the morning of to add them. Overall, a great introduction to Transylvania if you have limited time!

5.00Our tour bus driver Christian and Stefan our tour guide was awesome! They are so well organized and kept within schedule on the dot. We were in and out of the sites with no hassle. Stefan was very knowledgeable and professional. We all as a group had a fantastic time. The entire tour ran swiftly but lots of great information was given plus learned. I highly recommend this tour.

1.00Lote of hidden fees. One of the guides not really what you expect. The Italian one was ok. You can’t eat on the bus and you can’t use toilet on the bus. When arrived I needed to desperately use the toilet. I wrote a mail to have the possibility to tip our guide, this is their answer: This excursion for us is going to end. We are sick and tired of this stupid show.
