Wonderful Introduction to the City

I am writing this review to commend PABLO of Buenos Aires for an excellent tour. He spoke with me in both English and Spanish (so that I could practice, I’m sorry if I came off like a complete gringo…) and I felt that he was being truly authentic in being able to connect with me personally as well as another couple visiting from the United States. This was my first time in both South America and in Buenos Aires. He described a lot of the history, architecture, and he hit the highlights and took some pictures of me when we walked around several barrios. He also introduced me to the Alfajores cookies which I am now (unfortunately) in love with. Thank you Pablo for your hospitality and I cannot wait to come back to further explore this wonderful city.

This half day trip is very good and was made all the better by the Tour Guide – Leandro, whose English is excellent and is able to give a clear and concise commentary on all the locations on the tour, along with a splash of humor. We were a group of seven persons, which is an ideal size as there was an easy hotel pick-up arrangement with everyone on time. There are stops on the tour which allow you to walk around and take photographs. This is an ideal introduction to Buenos Aires for you to then decide which areas you wish to explore further. (Word of warning, when on your own you have to be on your guard at all times as iPhone snatching by motorcycle thieves is rife, they are so many motor bikes in all areas and will strike when you least expect. They even park on the sidewalks and pavements and as you walk along they zoom by and snatch your phone from your hand).

Our guide, Marcelo was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and managed to deliver in both Spanish and English equally. I got a great introduction to Buenos Aires and the different neighborhoods. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who is visiting Buenos Aires, especially for the first time.

Brilliant way to get an overview of the city - particularly liked that free time was included at the Plaza de Mayo and La Boca. Amie was an excellent guide - would recommend.
