When you arrive at Real Baja Tours you will meet your guide for the day and other Real Baja Tours team members will be there to welcome you. A team member will provide you with anything that you might need for the tour and then introduce you to your well trained horse. Once quickly briefed you will saddle up on your horse and start the fun. Your guide will keep whatever pace is comfortable for your group. The first section of the tour takes you through the desert. Experience its rawness as you ride some of the trails of the Baja Races. Your guide can tell you as much or as little as you want about the native fauna and history of the area. The next section of the tour takes a beachy turn. Enjoy incredible ocean views, as you ride through the desert environment on your way to a secluded area of the beach. From November until May it is possible to see a whale or two spouting in the Pacific Ocean. Dolphins, sea turtles and sea lions are often sighted during this experience. This truly is a bucket list experience. Every experience level can enjoy this experience. At the End you will have plenty of time to use the restrooms, check out your pictures from the tour, and Tequila Tasting

We booked a sunset horseback riding tour with this company, which also offers ATVs and tequila tastings. The price included hotel pickup and drop-off, which was convenient. The place itself was expected, a hut in the middle of dirt. We saw nicer spots later, but this was the first one we came across. They picked us up 3.5 hours before sunset. At check-in, a staff member told us we’d be riding for 3 hours and suggested adding ATVs for $100 to “kill time.” It felt like they planned it that way to upsell us. The beach is only a 15 minute horse ride away… they definitely didn’t have to pick us up that early. When the tour started, I appreciated that they matched us with horses based on experience. I’m a beginner, and my horse was perfect for me. The guide was kind but kept rushing us, joking around saying how slow we were. But we had plenty of time before the sunset… That said, the ride itself was magical. Watching the sunset while riding along the beach was a beautiful experience. So that itself, great experience. I would do that all over again. What left a sour taste was the tipping pressure afterward. The guide directly mentioned he relies on tips and suggested $100 (“like in america” he said)… which felt excessive. I would’ve tipped $20 in the US for a similar service.

Reyes was a great tour guide! The horses were beautiful and fun! Great experience to partake in while you’re here. Unforgettable with pictures being taken during the ride.

Overall, it was a good day, but I’m not a fan of being upsold. Be prepared for suggestions to modify your experience. The facility offers both horseback riding and ATVs, and they will present the option to add an ATV ride. In our case, this would have shortened our horseback riding time, as we were told that one hour and forty-five minutes is “a long time” to be on a horse. That’s what we signed up for! The photos they take during the ride are beautiful, but expensive—$120 USD for the full package or $30 USD plus tax per photo! Our guide Reyes was a highlight of the day. He was great with our group, even though we had a wide range of horseback riding experience. The tequila tasting at the end is essentially a sales pitch. The tequila we sampled was excellent, but it comes with a premium price.

Our horseback ride was long and boring. There is an additional $25 per person fee to enter the park where you either ride the horses or the ATVs. I'm sure it's somewhere in fine print, but caught us by surprise when we arrived. The tequila tasting was mediocre at best. No passion behind it. Just going through the motions because we paid for it.

Had an amazing time with Reyes as our tour guide. The tequila tasting at the end was also fun I missed the guides name for that one. Overall great experience.
