The Nevado Pisco forms part of the Huandoy massif. This mountain has the summits East and West, joined by a hill to the famous "Huandoy". From its summit has a panoramic view of 360 °, considered as the heart or the balcony of the Cordillera Blanca. From its summit to the east you can appreciate the impressive Chacraraju, in the north you can see the Pyramid of Garcilaso, the Artesonraju, Quitaraju, Alpamayo and Santa Cruz; to the East the Snowy Caraz, Aguja, El Cerro, La Esfinge, and Huandoy with its 4 peaks; to the south the highest snowy of the Cordillera Blanca and Peru, Huascarán North and South, together with Chopicalqui. The Pisco is a relatively easy snowy, this is accessed by its normal route. It has the name of the traditional Peruvian drink, the name could be attributed to the pisco the porters drank at the summit to celebrate the first ascent. The Pisco is considered ideal to adapt to the altitude and chosen by many mountaineers to finalize a trekking or to acclimatize before a climbing of greater technique requirements.

i actually booked 8 day Huayhuash Trek and Pisco with Pablo (owner of Andean Raju). everything went without a hitch. Pablo was really good about returning emails or text messages and answering questions. for Huayhuash, we had 3 clients with Darwin (guide), Merlin (cook) and Leo (donkey driver). they were all great! Darwin got us to some scenic view points before the other groups so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. he also allowed us to hike at our own pace whenever it was possible. Merlin and Leo always had camp ready when we arrived. the food was really good, was never hungry. i had a great time on Huayhuash, it's beautiful. some amazing peaks and lakes! for Pisco, my guide was Paulino and he was great. was always just in front of me and patient. i had to take a lot of breaks as we got higher in elevation. he also took me to Laguna 69 from the refugio and i was able to get there pretty much before the crowds arrived. overall, i would definitely recommend Pablo and his guides. i had an amazing experience on both these tours.

Due to its comprehensive offer and excellent communication we chose Andean Raju for organization of our climb of Nevado Pisco. No regrets! Everything was perfectly organized by Pablo, the owner of Andean Raju. Pablo replies to each and every question you may have (regardless how ignorant such questions are) within short time, gives valuable advice and even stored our surplus luggage during our days in the mountains. Pablo assigned an two english speaking certified mountain guides (Jonny and Alex) who took very good care of us. No matter what the terrain and challenge on the mountain, we always felt very safe and taken good care of. Meals were prepared by Juvenal, always in more than sufficient quantity, with impeccable quality and considering each participant's individual dietary preferences and requirements. In summary: Thank you Pablo (and Jonny and Alex and Juvenal) for having been our partners with this unforgettable trip. Anyone with a desire to experience a comparable journey: look no further - go with Andean Raju!
