We offer two tour times each evening to explore the beauty and nature of Indian River Lagoon as we paddle and observe bioluminescent Comb Jellyfish. Watch as the lagoon comes alive with some of nature's most interesting wildlife. The bioluminescent comb jellies do not sting and they are fascinating to watch. We also regularly see dolphins, manatees, rays, horseshoe crabs and more! We use our super bright led lighting systems to illuminate the water below so you can see fish and other wildlife below.

Sunset - Beach your vessel and explore the island while enjoying a beautiful sunset. Walk out on the sandbar with small nets and search for the comb jellyfish, horseshoe crabs, fish, and rays. Paddle into the night while the LED systems illuminate the water below.

Bioluminescence & Stargazing - launch into the night as the stars shine bright above. Search for bioluminescent comb jellyfish and other interesting wildlife. Our super bright led lighting systems illuminate the water below.

What To Expect

Our guides will take you on a beautiful night time adventure into Bioluminescence on the Indian River Lagoon. You will learn to kayak or paddleboard with our instructors as the sun sets and creates a beautiful palette of pinks, oranges and blues. We paddle out to horseshoe crab island and watch the sun set on another day in paradise. Explore the island with your group and meet new friends. Take this time to walk on the sand bar to look for wildlife such as horseshoe crabs and bioluminescent comb jellies. Cup the water in your hands and watch the brilliant stars appear! Take a short swim in the bioluminescence and make your own "glow angels". After the sun sets, the magic of bioluminescence begins. It's hard to describe the beautiful colors of bioluminescence. The fish glow an otherworldly blue as they swim below your paddleboard or kayak. It's an incredibly magical experience. This experience is 2 hours from start to finish with 1.5 hours of guaranteed time on the water.

My college roommate and I rented two clear kayaks to view the bioluminescent jellyfish the last week of February. It was a magical experience! We paddled out to explore horseshoe island, saw a beautiful sunset, horseshoe crabs and puffer fish. Savannah, our tour guide was excellent, super knowledgeable and fun. Definitely recommend, but might see more jellyfish in the summer, when water is warmer.

Just did this tour, as comb jellies start to come in now. Not the same as their Summer Bioluminescence tours, a different kind, where Comb Jellies--they don't sting!--will actually glow in your hand, or even in the water when you contact with them! They provide a small net, a kayak or paddleboard (my preference), paddle, lights, and safety equipment. Nature provides the rest! Our guide said it's also a great place to watch space launches, especially at night.
