Cooking Class
You have the option of participating in the food preparation, in the form of a cooking class, guided and assisted by the chef. You might even learn how to make pasta from scratch!
The chef uses the freshest of ingredients from all over Messinia, converting them into one of the best Mediterranean culinary experiences.
He will prepare a surprise menu just for you, tailored to your individual dietary preferences!
Private Dining
The meal consists of appetizer, main and dessert, true to the Mediterranean tradition, and is paired with amazing Messinian wines.

A memorable, private and personalized experience exclusively for you and your beloved ones, because, once booked for the day no other guests are added in the experience!

The culinary experience is provided upon request and depending on availability. In case there is no availability for the day you are interested, the experience can be offered the next available date or choose another similar available experience after coordination.
The dining experience may be enriched with: a Wine Tasting, an Olive oil or a Honey tasting or with a short Food Tour & Olive oil tasting in Kalamata upon request and at an extra charge.
Availability: Tuesday-Sunday all-year round, only in noon. Holy Friday - Easter Tuesday & Greek official holidays are excluded.

Tantalise your taste buds with an exquisite meal! A 3-hour private dining experience complete with Cooking class, to satisfy even the most demanding palates. A renowned Greek Head chef prepares and cooks with you a surprise three-course Mediterranean feast in his restaurant, in the heart of Kalamata, in Messinia region, Peloponnese, using the freshest of ingredients. It’s private dining with friends and family at its finest! You’ll participate in a Cooking class and a private lunch, prepared by a Greek chef in his restaurant in the city centre of Kalamata. The renowned Greek chef has prepared feasts for many politicians, including Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, François Hollande and Mahmoud Abbas, while he also served as Head chef of the former President of the Hellenic Republic. He has over 30 years of experience and is returning to his homeland Kalamata, where he’ll cook a private meal just for you and your friends or family! This private cooking and dining experience is available only for lunch.

5.00My husband and adult son did the cooking class with head chef Cristo at Restaurant Piccolo in Kalamata. Our whole experience was delightful- preparing a 5 course luncheon while sipping local Rose wine and discussing cultural history of Greece with Maria, our host. We helped make au d’oeuvres of smoked trout on cucumber with fresh lemon, sautéed vegetables, potatoes with fresh herbs and sautéed local cheese, served with warm pita and pepper chutney. We continued with scrambled eggs with fresh tomatoes and herbs and cheese, then chicken with tomatoes and pasta and Parmesan. Finally, we had fresh Greek yogurt with a cooked cherry syrup (I recommend seconds even if you are ready to burst!). My son preferred to talk with Maria and enjoy the finished meal, while I wanted to learn new cooking skills- we both were happy and very satisfied.

5.00A highlight of our trip through the Peloponnese was the cooking workshop with Maria and Christos in Kalamata. We were so kindly received by Maria in their lovely restaurant. Under the clear guidance of experienced and super sweet chef Christos we made our own 4 course lunch together with the children smiling but "working hard". An amuse, Fish from the oven, Moussaka and a delicious dessert. Delicious food and nice chat like friends do! Highly recommended, and worth driving for when you are in the Peloponnese!

5.00I booked a cooking class for my daughter and me with Mama's Flavours, and we had a great time! Chef Chris was incredibly patient and helpful throughout the class. His depth of knowledge on cooking and different cuisines was impressive. We requested to make moussaka, and the dish turned out delicious! I hope we can replicate it at home. Maria was also wonderful, providing excellent translation and support. She was fun to talk to about Greece and general subjects, giving us a great local perspective. It was a warm and welcoming experience that added to our Greek vacation. Maria followed up with the recipes and pictures from the class. The entire experience was both educational and enjoyable. I highly recommend Mama's Flavours to anyone looking for a fun and informative cooking experience!

5.00Last week my wife and I took part in Mama`s Flavours Private Cooking class in Kalamata with Chef Christos and it was the most enjoyable part of our vacation in Greece! Maria and Chef Christos are so welcoming and friendly that they made us feel at home and comfortable. If you`ve thought about attending one of these classes, book this one and you`ll be happy you did. Maria also gave us some great insights into Greek life, their culture and customs. What a great experience, thank you Maria and Chef Christos!

5.00This was one of the best experiences we had while in Kalamata. We were coached by one of the best chefs in Greece, and then enjoyed a long dinner with the chef and our tour organizers, Maria and Giannis, that allowed us to talk about everything ... politics, life in Kalamata/Greece, family ... all the things that brought us to Kalamata in the first place. Christos (the chef) has such great stories about who he's cooked for. We are heading back to Kalamata later this year, and intend to repeat this experience, primarily to enjoy the company of Christos, Maria and Giannis. I will also say that the value of this event was clearly there ... we likely would have paid what we paid just to go to a restaurant, and the "experience" of cooking instruction and great company was sort of "free."
